Welcome to the EB48.3 Wiki

What option parts should I consider buying with a new kit?
None are required but we recommend the following:

Springs:
Low Grip Track:
TKR8772 – Yellow Low Frequency Rear Springs and TKR8762 – Grey Low Frequency Front Springs

Low to Medium Grip Track:
TKR8773 – Orange Low Frequency Rear Springs and TKR8763 – Black Low Frequency Front Springs

Medium to High Grip Track:
TKR8774 - Red Low Frequency Rear Springs and TKR8764 - Pink Low Frequency Front Springs

TKR5199B – HRC Rear Hubs (L/R, CV or uni, EB/NB/ET/NT48/48.3) - Improves stability of the rear on mid to corner exit. Able to be on power earlier on corner exit.

TKR6146 - CNC Delrin Shock Cartridge Set

TiNi Shock Shafts
-TKR6017T (front)
-TKR6061T (rear)

This car is very durable. Here are the spare parts that I recommend you keep on hand:
TKR5020 – Hinge Pins (inner, front/rear)
TKR6061T – Rear Shock Shafts w/ TiNi Coating and TKR6017T – Front Shock Shafts w/ TiNi Coating
TKR5286 – Front Suspension Arms and TKR5184 – Rear Suspension Arms
TKR5194 – Spindle Carriers
TKR6009 – Shock O-Ring and Bladder Set (for 2 shocks)

Tips and Tricks

List of Vehicle Setup Adjustments and Build Tips can be found here. There are several videos and articles detailing the building of shocks, diffs, camber links, etc.

Page 3 Step K-3
Put the screw in upside down so that the head of the screw is in the hex spot that's molded into the spindle. This will aid in clearance in full droop / full steering.

Page 12 Step I-2
Use no less than 4 shims on the steering spindle to limit steering throw. I actually just use one 2mm ball stud washer from my 10th scale stuff since each shim is .5mm.

Setup Sheets:
Setup sheets for all Tekno RC vehicles can be found here.

Warranty Policy:
Tekno RC is the only company in the industry that will give 50% off of parts if returned to them using the General Warranty return policy found on their website. The parts can be lightly used or completely abused, as long as the part is still being produced it's covered!

Piston Drills:
Some of our setups recommend using pistons that are enlarged. For instance 4x1.9 or 3x2.0. To drill the pistons we recommend the following:
GMK Supply Piston Drill Set
16PC Metric Bit Set Metric Sizes 2.00 to 3.00 MM.

Anyone found a way to use the toe gauge plate on the hudy setup station with the .3? The tower is too high for the plat to sit

I was able o run my .3 this past weekend. Even with the ESC issues I was having the car itself was great. From the first battery on the track I was on pace. The car has a TON of on power steering.

The only changes I have made from the kit setup is 3k in the rear diff rather the 5k.

looking forward to reading more. We have a lot of Tekno guys out here now running the EB48.2s it looks like and the conditions are such that if the new vehicle makes going through the rough stuff easier and it jumps better, it should be a winner for sure.

As for things to get for spares, I'd say the usual for most vehicles. I would probably pick up the steel spur gear if you run on anything rough personally. Popping a spur due to a rock, etc is not fun. At least on the Tekno side the gears are relatively cheap. My Durango gears are like $10 each due to some weird steel thing they use lol.

how does these new pistons compare pack wise to say the 6 x 1.5s ? Are these any good to use on the SCT410.3?

In general I liked the Viper VTX8 I had with its Viper 1900Kv motor. Fits the chassis well with a buggy sized motor.

Tekin's RX8 Gen2 and there motor works well too. was originally switching to the Tekin RX8s due to smaller footprint for the ET48 to use a truggy motor but ironically switched cars.

To be honest I haven't really heard of any of the more known ESCs being a bad fit for the car performance wise. I'd say go with fits your budget and has the features you want.

I run Tekin Gen2 RX8 in both my tekno's, with tekin motors.

I've heard good things about SMC's 1900kv motor. For the price, I'm thinking about ordering one to have on hand for a backup.

A lot of guys like hobbywing for their affordability. They happen to be coming out with a new 8th scale ESC next month, and Pete @ fiercercsolutions.com (aka fastpete) has them available for pre-order.

I'm in the market for a truggy, and I'm probably going with the hobbywing myself.

There are plenty of great esc's on the market.

best budget esc setup would be the SMC 1900 motor paired with the hobbywing SCT pro.

there are also some new stuff that will be entering the market within the next few months from Reds,Viper and Hobby Wing.

me personally, if I was up in the air on escs and spec'd out some that were similar with the only diff being one has a programmer card, I would go with the programmer card one personally.

Much easier to fiddle with than a laptop and I don't have a cell.

You'd have a different outlook if you had a Cell. I love the livewire app for tekin, and always have the wire with me. I've lent my tablet to someone that forgot their laptop at home at the track.

I have the reedy blackbox 410R, and had to spend $40 for the programmer box. I haven't actually used it yet, that's how much I like it....

Not that I'm aware of. Last I talked to Pete, that's what he's waiting for right now.

Thanks guys I ordered the Tekin RX8 2 with 1900 motor.

Now I'm gonna need a couple pair of lipo batteries. Any suggestions for a good 4s battery and charger?

My apologies for all the questions it's been several years since I've done any racing so all this is new to me.

For 4S batteries check out the offerings from SMC and Promatch.
