Welcome to the EB48.3 Wiki

What option parts should I consider buying with a new kit?
None are required but we recommend the following:

Springs:
Low Grip Track:
TKR8772 Yellow Low Frequency Rear Springs and TKR8762 Grey Low Frequency Front Springs

Low to Medium Grip Track:
TKR8773 Orange Low Frequency Rear Springs and TKR8763 Black Low Frequency Front Springs

Medium to High Grip Track:
TKR8774 - Red Low Frequency Rear Springs and TKR8764 - Pink Low Frequency Front Springs

TKR5199B HRC Rear Hubs (L/R, CV or uni, EB/NB/ET/NT48/48.3) - Improves stability of the rear on mid to corner exit. Able to be on power earlier on corner exit.

TKR6146 - CNC Delrin Shock Cartridge Set

TiNi Shock Shafts
-TKR6017T (front)
-TKR6061T (rear)

This car is very durable. Here are the spare parts that I recommend you keep on hand:
TKR5020 Hinge Pins (inner, front/rear)
TKR6061T Rear Shock Shafts w/ TiNi Coating and TKR6017T Front Shock Shafts w/ TiNi Coating
TKR5286 Front Suspension Arms and TKR5184 Rear Suspension Arms
TKR5194 Spindle Carriers
TKR6009 Shock O-Ring and Bladder Set (for 2 shocks)

Tips and Tricks

List of Vehicle Setup Adjustments and Build Tips can be found here. There are several videos and articles detailing the building of shocks, diffs, camber links, etc.

Page 3 Step K-3
Put the screw in upside down so that the head of the screw is in the hex spot that's molded into the spindle. This will aid in clearance in full droop / full steering.

Page 12 Step I-2
Use no less than 4 shims on the steering spindle to limit steering throw. I actually just use one 2mm ball stud washer from my 10th scale stuff since each shim is .5mm.

Setup Sheets:
Setup sheets for all Tekno RC vehicles can be found here.

Warranty Policy:
Tekno RC is the only company in the industry that will give 50% off of parts if returned to them using the General Warranty return policy found on their website. The parts can be lightly used or completely abused, as long as the part is still being produced it's covered!

Piston Drills:
Some of our setups recommend using pistons that are enlarged. For instance 4x1.9 or 3x2.0. To drill the pistons we recommend the following:
GMK Supply Piston Drill Set
16PC Metric Bit Set Metric Sizes 2.00 to 3.00 MM.

One guy at our track (suzukipro) runs the Pro4HD 1850 on 4S in a Lightweight EB48 and runs in the normal ebuggy class, and does very well with it.
Ok good to know thank you
I will have to find out if its just 2s or if i can run 3s packs as well
I would definitely like more torque

definition of prolite is 2s....especially indoors....But I know of guys running the prolites outside with like the t8i 1950 motor and the small 3600mah 4s batteries to keep everything light.

I was actually asking someone about this the other day.... How do those 3600mah do? SMC has those and they are same height as a 2s basically. Someone said they will only last like 5 minutes using motors like that, do they last decently? Also how different is the T8 1900 and the Pro4 1900? Ive seen both being used...

I run a regular EB48.3 (not the SL) with a T8i 1950kv and SMC 3600mAh batteries and can do a 10 min main. At my indoor track its no issue, but outdoors I am a little more careful, I will limit my throttle to 90-95%, and usually don't run any warm up laps.

My smc 6500's last way too long... Good to hear the 3600 lasts long enough. My Pro4 4300kv died last week and I thought about switching my sct to a SL or just adding a 1900 t8 or pro4 4s instead.... But I went ahead and ordered the parts to fix the motor, $58.. might try out the that setup soon though.

Has anyone tried the new rear hubs, if so, what are your thoughts? I also ordered the diff shims and am trying to decide which to try first.

The plastic from the sideguard cut my fan wire, and servo extender wire in half... thankfully it didnt cut thru the ESC wire. ><

Aluminum servo horn is the only needed part, the wiki on this page has a few other things that are good to get also. (Pink/Red springs are common)

Tekno kits are on sale on Tower currently, an extra $40-50 off, and Tekin systems are as well.

Looks like a .4 version is coming soon. The Tekno drivers are running lots of new suspension geometry at the worlds. New nubs front and rear, new spindles, new hinge pin holders, and new arms. http://events.redrc.net/2016/10/chas...s-ryan-lutz-6/

No clue yet. Ryan, Joe and crew are always testing new parts. Only time will tell if/when a new kit will be released.

Don't expect a new car for a while. Even if these new parts are amazing and run perfect this week, it will take months for that to trickle down to EB. Just my 2 cents, not an official word
