Anyone?

Curious to know if there would be an improvment over, say, an SC10.2 (or if there is even a good setup to make these trucks work) on a "real" dirt track. In other words, something you would expect to run Enduro, City Block, Grid Iron, Caliber, or Blockade type tires. Something with some ruts and a bit of loose dirt, especially after the 4x4SC heats, where people even add weight to the rear of their SC10's...

Yeah you could use them. All it will do is make your truck a little narrower by a couple mm which will change the handling but probably won't even notice any difference. I've used different types of wheels many times and it felt just fine.

Just ran mine over the weekend on a loose bumpy outdoor track with enduros and it handled really good. The only thing that I would change is softer springs. Other then that the stock setup worked well.

My SC5 was really good on outdoor track this past weekend. Truck lands very well i went with the +4 c mount from the factory, along with a bunch of aluminum for looks. Truck was really smooth out of the box, build went smooth but seemed like some parts were in the wrong bag.

I used a shorty set up at 702 on Friday. Seems like it'll be what I run for now, but if I find I need more weight I will slap in a square.

I've been running a mid motor Losi for the full summer now to kick the tires on mid motor short course before the SC5M was released. I'm definitely faster on smooth higher grip tracks with the mid motor. And I am at least as fast on the loose tracks as well. I have found that increasing rear toe is very beneficial (I finally settled on 4° with the Losi) and doesn't seem to as adversely affect steering as with the rear motor. The mid motor also seems to have a much narrower window of tuning effectiveness compared to a rear motor. All in all, the mid motor is just plain funner to drive. If you enjoy tuning and driving a car with a bit of smoothness and finesse, mid motor is the way to go.

Very thin sheet under the battery, about the same size. Maybe like 1.5mm ish?
