haha, it is not the buying of the bodies I dislike....it is the cutting and painting, lol.

I always spray a coat of Dupli-Color clear coat after I am done painting. you can find it at most auto parts stores. it creates a nice strong coating. I have had the paint on the body last way longer than the body will

Best way is to go to your local hardware store and buy a can of rustoleum truck bed liner. After painting spray the entire inside with 3 light coats. It will make the body more durable and stop any tire wear. I paint 5-6 bodies a week for people and everyone raves about how much more durable and better looking the bodies stay.

Best thing I've found for wheel-well rubbing: aluminum foil tape. Very thin so super light. Has saved my paint and still going strong after 1 year of racing! I've seen some people gluing a scrap piece of lexan up there, but much heavier.

As for preventing cracks... good luck!
Some ideas:
- Make sure to leave minimal trailing edge near rear bumper (also helps prevent parachuting),
- Be easy with the x-acto cutting masks,
- Be smart with cutting vents
- Turn down the throttle EPA for your daughter!!

The last time I had an SC, the wheels rubbed the wheel wells on compression. And quickly rubbed away the paint. I am looking to try and keep the paint looking decent as long as possible. A buddy of mine uses plastic dip spray on the inside and that does seem to keep the bodies from cracking as much. But is also heavier. And I am not sure I want the tires compressing and binding up on a rubber under coat. The simplest thing, is to put stickers over the rub spots, so you cant see them , lol.

Also, any tricks to make the body last longer without using 10lbs of drywall tape and shoe goo? I was thinking about not cutting out vents as a way to make the body more durable. And cut away the rear sections above the bumper to lower the chance of the bumper cracking the body.
I put a strip of black gorilla duct tape in the wheelwells and where the body mounts go. I also use the clear gorilla tape on any corners or where it may be visible, also good for repairs.

Man I really hate UPS. I was originally suppose to have my truck today; however, it spent three days driving around NV before get to AZ and sitting there for a whole day. My new delivery date is Friday. This really sucks.

I got 8 kits @ 3:25PM. My last buddy just left and they are all gone but one, mine. I have to order my kid another one. I hope I can get it built by the weekend. I have an MIP tranny, fox shocks, Ti screws, schelle stuff, and Ti turnbuckles for my truck already but maybe I'll build it stock first.....nah, I just can't do it! If anybody is looking for an SC6, one of mine is up for sale.
