WAY too much. Unless you are a pretty good, experienced driver, a 10.5 is usually enough for most tracks.

I am of the opinion that ALL motors can be made slower but you cant really make them faster. I run a 6.5 turn Trinity D4. I turn the timing down, under gear a little and limit throttle end point on small tracks. The motor runs cool, smooth and great. If you are gonna run a 10.5, it might get hot a lot quicker and will get shorter run times. Just a thought.
DO NOT GET A 4-POLE MOTOR. That is just pointless and will ruin your gearbox, tires, and pride.

Air is getting thin for the current breed of Kyosho 2WDs... I used to have an RT-6 which I sold way before the T5M was announced because I did not have the time to race it. When the T5M was announced I knew that I would get one because it was a cheaper way to get an up-to-date ST with proper parts support, which Kyosho does not in Germany. I feared that it would not be on par with Kyosho. Although the RT-6 was better in terms of overall quality, my T5M has been faster and easier to drive on all tracks so far, dirt and astro alike. Like many others I do hope that the SC5M will be similar. If so, I am convinced that it will be faster on our astro track than any of the Pro4s out there.

I am sure there is some turnbuckle/ballcup/ballstud talk as soon as the kit is available.

Any word on the release date? I know it was supposed to be mid July but we have passed that now.

Associated had setups and manual posted on there page months before the T5m was released. I hope this not an indicator of what's to come of the SC5M.

Well my local track just closed its doors unbeknownst to the majority of its patrons... And I was 6th on the list to get my sc5m from there. Looks like I will be stopping by hobby people next week.

Thunder Tiger Europe, the German distributor announced yesterday that it will be released very soon. I would not be surprised if they had it already in stock but are obliged to wait until the US consignment has also arrived to prevent worldwide forum whining... No offence to anyone in the Americas, but I can't see any sense in keeping kits from paying customers. Sometimes you are the lucky one, sometimes it is the other side of the world.
