Like I said I got mine used and was that way when I got it, but my brothers is brand new and it is already like that from just a couple nose plants. And if others have had bumpers on back order since December, kind of tells me it is a piss poor design in that area, if hobby stores cannot keep them in stock.
It's out of stock because lots of parts are waiting to come in. Just put a steel or alum washer over the screw and be done. I ripped one through and it lasted many races after.

My donor SC5M already has the front sway bar. I can't wait. I think that I'm going to start this week.

Thank you guys for the help. I'm going to rig up a b5m rear bar for the front and give that a try.

Wallie sold too Schelle, still not in stock. I want one. SC5M Front Anti-Roll Bar Kit (V2 design)

Just put in a three gear transmission with Avid bearings tonight. Already got grey springs up front with 35 in the shocks.

Opinion wanted. I have finished building my SC5M, I have the electronics just waiting on my backordered servo. I will be running the Hobbywing XR10 Pro ESC, with the Hobbywing G2 17.5T motor, waiting on the Reedy RT1508 servo.

I still need to get some batteries. I think I will go SMC (everyone seems to love them). There are only 2 shorty options. I cannot post links, so if you go to SMC website the first battery in question is the Shorty 4000mAh 150C Roar Approved (only on pre order), second is Shorty 4600mAh 90C battery.

I would like opinions if either one of those would be good for my setup, and also good for possibly upgrading to a lower turn motor? I was leaning more towards the one on pre-order, since it has a higher C rating and is Roar Approved. But I am wondering if I should be fine for 10 minute run times with the second battery? Thanks, you all have been really helpful so far.

Default Wow

Man I haven't seen the battery mount like this before, I must say it looks to be able to keep the CG dead center! I love it but I also need input on the advantages of mounting like this, I have the Fan mount brace on the truck and I don't want to make any different changes to hinder the fan performance.

since the style is a lot like the T5M I might try on that one first.

this really looks cool. does it make a difference on this battery position as opposed to the side mount?

Default Alternative mount

I built my own mounts by using T6 Sway bar braces and bending what you can call music wire from ace hardware (You wont be able to tell the stiffness of them, and you will have to bend them yourself) you can also use any type of eyelets that mount just inside the shock mount on the arm and I used kyosho set screws I believe they were 3 X 25MM to adjust the height of the mount. you would have to drill holes on the arm and as long as you can drill straight you wont have a problem. I will post pictures as soon as I get home to show you. also if you are looking to run faster on high bite tracks like turf or carpet you can lower the caster by using Schelle B5 Aluminum Caster Block Sets to lower the ride height.

I use these on my T5m and SC5m since my home track is Carpet

Default 3-Gear Questions

Just switched over to the 3-gear tranny. Are there any general changes that need to be made? For example:

1. Does the gearing change because of the switch?
2. Do people adjust the ride height or other settings generally when moving to the 3-gear?

Thanks!

I have not changed anything, I picked up a used truck with the 3 gear and run same setup as my brother the 4 gear. and we both run a 8.5 and run same gearing I believe.
