3-gear is exactly what I'm going to do immediately...

He's running a shorty too. Loads of grip + good tires + professional driver....I'll probably be sticking with the 4 gear and a square.

Does anyone know which Ti screws were used in Cavs Sc5m? And the Ti ball studs? Like the part numbers. And is it worth getting the alum rear hubs?

Sure its the associated set with extras, screws sets are largely identical. Studs should also be identical.

Could someone explain a couple things without making me feel like a noob? First which battery pack are people planning on running, shorty or square? And the one I should know but what's the difference between 3&4 gear, mid and rear motor?

I am planning on a shorty since likely weight will be already on the heavy side, and I run either 17.5 or 13.5 motors.

Good article here on 3 vs. 4 gear. http://www.team-durango.com/blog/201...onfigurations/

Motor location affects the weight distribution. Mid motors are just that, motors in front of rear axle vs. behind. Mid motors tend to carry faster corner speed.
