If I can lower it and make it faster, that means I will be that much faster than my brother, that is a good thing. You know, brotherly love and all.

the ride height you see posted in setup sheets is after the truck has been dropped from about 10-12 inches or so. so try dropping it 10-12 inches and then measure. to adjust ride height, you twist the collars on the shocks. twist them up to lower ride height, and screw them down to raise it.

I did the drop form about a foot. Was 32-33mm. I will try again and see what it is. I have the collars adjusted with just enough pressure to keep the springs from moving. So they are about 1/8 from the top so zero pre load on the springs. I am using the stock white springs. Get a set of softer springs? I have the ones from my SC10.2, blue, grey, red and yellow.

Buzz.

I dont know what track you are on. But even when I ran outdoors, I never went over 30mm in the front or 28 in the rear for sct. I am at 22/20 now because I run on high grip clay. I used limiters to shorten my droop and ran the collars up to lower mine. I would ask a local fast guy how much ride height they are running.

I use:

- SkyRC Ares pro Competition 13.5t
- LRP SXX TC-Spec
- Futaba S9352hv
- Yuki Modell Brainergy 2s1p 6000mAh 45C Saddle

Started gearing at 24/78, but went down to 21/78 (9.66:1) to handle the temperatures. Was at 87°C with 24t and 23t pinion, 21t pinion lowered tempts to 76°C.

Clay outdoor track - you can see our track in this video from our last years night race (6 hours full race time in teams of 3-4 persons). Layout changed a bit this year but dimensions stayed the same.

---------------------------------

Ran my SC5m completely box stock with setup per manual this weekend - except for the body, used a Proline Flo-Tek Ford F-150 Raptor SVT.
Pic with my B5r attached.

Tires: HotBodies MegaBite (pink) (#61742)
Inserts: HPI SC Tire Inserts (soft) (#103335)

Car was really dialed, no need to change anything. Tended to slightly get away with the rear in really dusty turns at full throttle, but not uncontrollably. Just needed a small correction per steering wheel in this cases - really like it this way.

Ran the ball diff with the 4-gear tranny, but wanted to try the gear diff. Build it with the Asso Black Grease as I did with my SC10's, no diff oil used. Worked fine for the SC10 but not for the SC5m - the rear started wanting to overtake my front. Will continue to use the ball diff as it works perfect for our dry loose conditions.

If you are looking for aluminum bell cranks, avid has them at reduced pricing. I have these in my sc5m.

I just built this kit to the manual and the rear shock springs rub up against the turnbuckle. I have an idea how to fix it but wanted to see if anyone else had this issue?

If you are going to be racing I would strongly advise against a sensorless 4 pole system for a 2wd short course truck. Too powerful and not enough low RPM feel for racing. For bashing it would be awesome.

I am going to race it on a dirt oval and it just seems the 4 pole stuff has more torque
