Any one know the correct part # for the SC5M font springs?
Buggy front springs also work on the truck front with the taller offset spring cups. It's what we have used for years up until these newer truck springs got released. They're still an option.

I just cutted my body and forgot to have a look at the body mount holes. Can anyone tell me the right ones?

Edit: Are these right?
http://www.prolineracing.com/images/...7_mounting.pdf

(The body mount holes does not look exactly the same but when I chose the same (2nd from top in front) it seems to fit nicely!

Just mounted that body and those are the right holes.

Thanks for posting this.

So the complete parts list for the 3 gear trans would be?
  • Team Associated B5M "3 Gear" Gear Box ASC91607
  • FT Front Motor Plate, black, 3 gear ASC91602
  • B5M Gear Cover, 3 gear ASC91604
  • FT Aluminum Top Shaft, B5M, 3 gear ASC91606
  • Team Associated Factory Team Heavy Duty One-Way Shims ASC1733

I have one person telling me that I don't need the top shaft and another telling me I would need different top shaft bearings. Can someone please shed some light on what is actually needed to complete this for a new build?

You do not need the top shaft with the SC5M. The first version of the B5M required the updated top shaft and new bearings, but all the subsequent 5 series releases include the new top shaft and bearings.

I like the factory one.
It's the Proline Flo-tek, but they updated it to include the mounting holes for the SC5M. If you get this one from Proline, the front holes are the same as the SC10, but you'll have to mark new holes in the rear because the body was made before the SC5m was ever thought of but that should be easy to mark then ream them since the fronts mount up, there's not guess work on the rear, just make sure to mark them on the outside of the body with a sharpie before you paint the body and ream the holes for the mounts before you pull the overspray protector on the outside of the body because if you forget to, then you'll lose your marks for the holes (I've done it before, oops lol) http://www.prolineracing.com/bodies/...ear-body-pro2/

I'm running a 17.5 Mach 3 with 28/75 gearing on my sc5m. I can clear the tripple at my local track and have plenty of speed down the straights. I haven't played with timing yet. My motor runs extremely cool barley reaching over 100 degrees, but it has been cold lately. I'm not sure if cool temps are due to the weather, the fan I mounted on the waterfall bracket, or a combination of both. I will likely increase my timing at my next tack session.

I'm loving the handling on this truck. The way the rear end whips around tight corners at speed is great and suits my driving style. I don't know if everybody's truck is like this, but I'm enjoying mine. It is alot different from my B5M.

Do you have enough clearance in front of the steering turnbuckles?

I just got one of these to race for next years season at my local track, and was wondering. What parts usually break on these things during racing? No off-road racing experience, but years from EP on-road.

I'm running a 17.5 in my truck.

Am I correct in thinking that the SC5 shares a lot of parts with the B5?

I doubt you will be breaking anything running 17.5. The only part I have seen break on these things is a front arm that a guy broke trying to clear the triple at our indoor track. The only components that are really shared between the B5M and the SC5M are the gearbox parts and a select few suspension components (not many).
