He barely runs that thing. He will run it at event for sure. But if you think he takes SC as serious as buggy, you would be mistaken. It is a 3rd or 4th class for him.

Anyway, good to hear they will be in soon. My daughter keeps asking me daily when it is coming. I do look forward to helping her build it. She asked me "You mean it comes in pieces?" lol.

OMG! It is in pieces before she even had a chance to drive it?!
I can understand where that racing vehicle yes/no discussion comes from, but would prefer to read and participate in discussions regarding the SC5M itself, not short course philosophy.
As my dealer of choice did not manage to get on of the smallish 1st batch of SC5Ms here in Germany and the 2nd will not arrive before late September, I decided to dig out our old SC10 FT, which has been a SC10B and a T4 meanwhile. You've got to love the versatility of the AE cars!

How big is SC in Europe? Just curious.

More and more local Pros are getting them, so I think it should be really soon. Personally, I how AEs big fat alum chassis will make the SC drive a little better. But i suspect, just like 17.5 ST, not many locally with bother with 17.5 SC. Most everyone tossed in 13.5s and run mod with ST.

The SC5M should be available Monday or Tuesday next week in the USA.

If a track is running 17.5 for SC's then that's on them, 13.5 is barely enough for ST's let alone SC's. Stock SCT would need to be 10.5 or 13.5 minimum. Mod for me, 7.5t and dial it down as needed or add some boost

I will need to run a 13.5, because the is the limit for novice. I do have a mod rotor in my 13.5, so it has more torque

I wonder what that actually means.... Probably just seeing the volume of backorders they will get before next week!

Agree its a 2nd or 3rd class for him, as it is for me. Only wish I could squeeze in a 3rd class on club racing nights out here. Guess Ill have to trade time with the T5M. SC is so much fun to drive, like a big drunk caddy.

The pieces are a part of the fun..

You can order online and its in stock. I paid for mine at OCRC yesterday and they told me I should be able to pick it up today. So, they should hit A Main, etc shortly, whatever time it takes to go from SoCal to NorCal.

Wildcat-

My daughters first car was the AE T4 team kit "in pieces" I had her build it when she was 8-9 (with a little help). She still does all her own mechanic work (she is in college now). Good call.

lol, my kids are my other classes. Me plus 2 kids and only 7 heats of racing, makes for a busy day. But hanging with the little ones makes for a great day. I was at OCRC a couple weeks ago. Nice facility. I liked the layout. I never realized how big OCRC was. SRS is pretty big, but OCRC is bigger length wise for sure

Yeah, it is important for them to figure out how thing "work". For life in general.
