I've looked back a ways.... but I can't seem to find it. Putting a laydown diff in and asking what "C" block is used? I tried a couple I had and diff hits it. Or do I need to put shims under diff.? Thanks guys!!!!!

shimming is now the commonly accepted/easiest solution to my knowledge.. there used to be other tricks that would not raise CG, but the parts are no longer available..

No..

I have a pair of SC5m's using B6 laydowns that are using the sc5m C & D blocks as well as the stock shock tower. Buying that overpriced tower and other parts is totally unnecessary.

It's not the best picture but the only one I have handy. We simply made a brace to go from the tranny to the tower and trimmed the tab off that would mount to the B6 camber link brace.

It cost us the total of the b6 laydown kit with idler + motor plate which I paid about $30 for and a little material to fab an upper brace.

Worked on it a little last night. Trimmed the C Block. Yea if you run the CF tower. Moves mounting holes for body. Just building this one to compare the two. My other one is a X factory chassis with 3 gear. If I like it I'll mod. that chassis also.

The schell extended topshaft kit (discontinued) let you clear the C block and centered the motor up better.. it's a shame they stopped making it...

With the SC5M gear diff being backordered everywhere, I was going to get the one for the B6. If I remove the CVA axle shim it will fit, right?

I had no idea the old SC10 diff worked. I think I still have a couple of those laying around.

Yeah, I didn't realize it either until I read about it here, I posted my experience about it the first test mount in the previous page - had some slight hitch in the fit, but more likely than not a brand new one (which as said I already ordered) will fix that issue, if not otherwise then with a light filing.
