Thanks for the help everyone this is what I ended up doing. Cut the chassis, had to tighten the diff just a smidge, went from a green to a kyosho red front spring, and added another 2mm spacers under the front ball stud. The truck is hooked up now, race tomorrow will have to see how it ends up, at least I have a chance now.

In the name of brotherly love here. I need a little more power. We are both running Tacon 3650 3500kv 10T motors. So I would like a little more oomph out of mine. I do not need to go light speed, but faster than he goes would be nice. One of the guys at the track said to get a sensored motor. OK would it be just another 10.5T or would a 11.5, 12.5, 9.5, 8.5 motor have a little more get up and go?
We had a great night last night. We both have truck that are doing very well. They buggies guys I was running with were impressed at well the trucks were flying around the track. Brothers truck has the 3 gear tranny, I have sway bars. Mine handles just a touch better and his flies a touch better. I can stick the inside line and hold it better then he can, but he can fly through the triples batter then I can. So each has it plus's and minus's.
I just need to do the 3 gear and get a bit better motor.

Yes I run at SDRC. We are there on Thursday night most of the time. We may call it racing, but more of a crash course in getting around the track. We have a good time.

I asked about using a B6 gear diff in a SC5 a few days ago, like most people figured, it fit. I took some measurements, the B6 diff is a hair wider. I also took a measurement with the alum spacers on. In case anyone else was wondering.

I run on clay. Used the gear diff with the black asso grease in it like I did in my SC10 which worked well, but I don't like it in my SC5m. Car has less on-power-traction cause the diff is locked too much. Could be better using diff oil instead of grease but since I have none and the ball diff works very fine, I haven't tested it.
So I prefer the ball diff over the gear diff in my SC5m, gear case is the 4-gear.

I may be doing something wrong here, but this is my 3rd set of big bores that leak like a stuck pig. I have tried cranking on them like the Hulk, just enough to snug up the tops and just about everything in between. Do they just leak or am I doing it wrong?
Picked up a CHEAP!!!!!! sensored 8.5 setup. 120amp ESC and a 4620kv 8.5 motor. Will see how well it works. I got burned on the Viper, so hard to spend that much on a setup.
Other than the shocks leaking, this truck is very fun to drive. Brother and I were cranking the laps by last week. Both got some 25 flat laps in.
Non of the shops around have the black or silver springs. Looks like I will have to order them.
