What steering servo for my Inferno??

I bought an MP6 international and I need to know what steering servo I should get? I have a lynx3D radio system for it so must be compatible with that. Or what amount of torque and speed I should look for? THe Hitec 925MG looked pretty good to me. ANy help would be great thanks.

The airtronics will work with your radio, the 94357 has more speed and the 94358 has a little more torq. I run two 94357 in my Inferno 7.5. Some guys run the 94357 as a throttle servo and then the 94358 as the steering servo.

use a high torque servo, such as the ko2144 on the steering.
for throttle, if your wallet allows it, use a high torque servo too.
anyone using a digital servo for throttle ? i've been told digital servos won't last long for throttle/brake duty on 1/8th buggies.

servos

I am going to look at all the servos I can use and look at the price and go from there. You a Huseker fan. I am from NE.

There's talk about the digital's in throttle cause the brakes to hold a tad longer then normal. This due to the extra holding power they have. Just something I heard.

I use a digital servo for the steering and find it to be fine. Don't know about the throttle, especially as it is virtually impossible to hold the brakes and keep the servo from stalling...

I use the jr high torque digital servos in steering and throttle so far they have been great no issues to complain about.

Racing4Evo 10-25-2002 09:28 PM

Stay away form JR. I took a shot at their 8450 and it turned out to be a bad decision. Not only are they overpriced, the specs aren't up to par with other brnads such as KO and Air. The only tow brands I will reccomend are KO and Futaba. You can not go wrong wiht either. The KO is definately the bang for you buck servo compared to the Futaba. I am now in the process of switching all my servos over to KO and maybe experiment with the Futaba 9450.

What servo to buy

I have a total of 5 JR Digital servos and 2 Hitec Digital servos.
Two of my JR's (high torque) needed repairs. JR REPLACED them for free and didn't even charge for shipping.
One of my Hitec servos went bad (5625) and Hitec replaced the amplifier board inside under warranty.
I REALLY love my high speed servos, they actually make the cars easier to drive. I recommend Digital in whatever brand you prefer, with at least 100oz of torque @ 6v, the faster the better.

rcgod 11-22-2002 07:08 PM

Use a KO 2144 or Airtronics 358. JR and Hitec have better warranties, but the performance is slightly less. I've been using a KO 2143 digital on the throttle on my 7.5 for 2 years , raced weekly with no problems.

rod_b 11-25-2002 09:52 AM

rcgod - so you think a KO 2143 is enough for a buggy. I've always run them in my TCs but I just got an XR Works and have been debating on which servo to get, 2143 or 2144?!

What servo

Rod B;

So thats where you've been. Racing off-road (Traitor)

I Think KO lists their servo specs in metric measure. Just go for something that has at least 100 oz's of torque and at least a .013
travel time @ 60 deg and 6 volts.
Anything less and I don't think you will be happy with the performance.
