Welcome to the SCT410.3 Wiki!

7.26.17 - BB
In order to run the recommended team setup, you need the following optional parts:
TKR6106 Orange LF Springs
TKR6114 Green LF Springs
TKR6018 composite shock caps (built to emulsion) OR TKR8702 Aluminum Emulsion Shock caps
TKR8027 Shock Stand Offs
TKR6051 8x1.3 pistons(drilled to 1.4mm)
TKR8104 .4 bellcranks
TKR8100 .4 ackerman
TKR5545B HRC Hubs
You also need the Aluminum C Block (others can stay composite)

What option parts should I consider buying with a new kit?
None are required but we recommend the following:

TKR5161 – V2 Adjustable Hinge Pin Brace “A” block, 7075 CNC, EB/NB/ET/NT/SCT) - Helps to improve durability on hard crashes.

TKR5163 – V2 Adjustable Hinge Pin Brace “C” block, 7075 CNC, EB/NB/ET/NT/SCT) - Helps to improve durability on hard crashes.

TKR5545B – HRC Rear Hubs (L/R, CV or uni, SCT.3/SL) - Improves stability of the rear on mid to corner exit. Allows harder acceleration on corner exit.

TKR6146 - CNC Delrin Shock Cartridge Set

TiNi Shock Shafts
-TKR6004T (front)
-TKR6017T (rear)

What spare parts should I keep on hand?
TKR5020 – Hinge Pins (inner, front/rear)
TKR5516 – Front Suspension Arms and TKR5515 – Rear Suspension Arms
TKR5542 – Spindle Carriers - TKR5541B Spindles
TKR6009 – Shock O-Ring and Bladder Set (for 2 shocks)

Tips and Tricks

List of Vehicle Setup Adjustments and Build Tips can be found here. There are several videos and articles detailing the building of shocks, diffs, camber links, etc.

Use steering stops/limiter washers... more info here.

Setup Sheets:
Setup sheets for all Tekno RC vehicles can be found here. Please be sure to try our recommended setup. It works very well on most tracks.

Hinge Pin Insert Chart:

Warranty Policy:
Tekno RC is the only company in the industry that will give 50% off of parts if returned to them using the General Warranty return policy found on their website. The parts can be lightly used or completely abused, as long as the part is still being produced it's covered!

Piston Drills:
Some of our setups recommend using pistons that are enlarged. For instance 4x1.9 or 3x2.0. To drill the pistons we recommend the following:
GMK Supply Piston Drill Set
16PC Metric Bit Set Metric Sizes 2.00 to 3.00 MM.

Ok, I've had this truck about 6 months. Love Tekno, have/had their buggies. No issues. For this truck, I've run it on loose outdoor and now a few times indoor on clay. The truck has the battery mod and I've had no issues with nose down (actually lands great), BUT for the life of me can't get the rear planted. It's pretty good in and out of the tight turns within a track but going down a straight into a sweeper kills me every time. I have to let up just to make the turn (or oversteer) without the rear spinning out while other trucks go right through it. I've tried everything (hubs forward, springs, oils, shocks up/down, long links, etc). I'm just starting to accept that with the battery mod, this truck just can't get that balance to hit a sweeper full speed. Just don't know if I'm still missing something, my skill level (racing about a year) or do I just learn to drive what the truck will give? I don't really have a question here, just ranting I guess..carry on.

Part of this is also the nature of running SC trucks, with no rear wing there's not a lot keeping the rear planted.
As far as what you can do to plant the rear into a turn, there's a few things.
-Run the shortest front link you can while also running the lowest front roll center, the 4A position. This makes a huge difference in how the truck goes into the corner. It also makes the truck land really well.
-Stand up your rear shocks, all the way out on the tower and all the way in on the arm.
-Lay the front shocks down, one out (from all the way in) on the tower and all the out on the arm.
-Less antisquat, try running 1, .5, or 0 degrees of antisquat.
-Move the rear hubs back, try 1mm spacer behind the hub and 4mm in the front.
-Try less front and rear camber, camber makes a big difference with as little as a quarter of a turn on the links. It's good to have a second person help you with this so you can stay on the drivers stand while they make a change and throw you back out
-Try a lower rear roll center, go up on the rear tower's camber link position. You can also make the link longer, helps slow down the change in camber through the suspension travel.
-Try more kickup, this will make the front dive a little more which isn't what we want but the increased caster we get from doing this is a bigger difference and helps control the truck into corners. You'll also get more on-power steering.
-Try a lighter rear swayar

I just purchased the SCT410.3 and currently have a Tekin 4600kv motor from another truck. Could this motor work? What pinion should I use for indoor clay track? Thank you

That's the motor I'm currently running, works great. Depending on the length of your straightaway, you could need a 14 up to a 16.

Try something new if not fit to your driving skills. I have tekno 410.3 with ton of upgrade I just sold here. I am not bashing this thread I love tekno products most durable kit that I have same with xray but my driving skills not fit so i try to get SCTE 3.0 and my driving skills fit easier to drive than tekno. My local track never beat tekno guy sponsor since we're both tekno but when i got the SCTE 3.0 lucky i beat him twice in race.

Like Matthew said, the 4600 pro4 is a good motor, and should treat you well. The 4300 pro4HD is also a good motor, but not ROAR Approved. So if that is a concern, stick with the 4600kv anyways.

My concern is guys are saying the 4600 will run hot pretty quick and the 4300 would be a much better motor for the truck....

Geared properly, It will be fine. Same motor Lutz runs in his SCT, and my buddy runs it with no worries, and is fast.

Thank you! I will try it out once the kit is built. My track is strictly 1/10th scale so its not very big. I will keep an eye on temps.

Hope you find a setup that works for that. It was the one big issue I had on the previous version I could not solve. By taking care of the nose down issue with recommended changes, rear became too loose. Correct that issue, then it would have bad jump handling characteristics. Probably was most painful when one particular jump an SCTE could hit repeatly with no issues and I would endo over it, or, fix that issue, and rear was on skates.

Did tekno ever release a true loose 1/8 track setup to go off on? If so, that could be helpful for a starting point. I dont' recall ever getting that in the V1 car which caused me to try a different vehicle that didn't have those issues but its lack of support from the company making it was striking in comparison. Another option is the Hobbywing 3656SD Motor, 4000Kv . Motor runs excellent and is on sale apparently for about $72 shipped or less with discounts new. Motor is like a 545 sized motor that runs relatively cool and has great power.

Another option, Maclan's 4150kv 550 motor.

used you can probably get either of these motors for around $50 or so.

Or grab the SMC 4500kv, which also isn't roar approved, for $60 new.

Yes it does. You'll need the extended body posts. Not optimal for racing, but perfectly find for bashing.
