Welcome to the SCT410.3 Wiki!

7.26.17 - BB
In order to run the recommended team setup, you need the following optional parts:
TKR6106 Orange LF Springs
TKR6114 Green LF Springs
TKR6018 composite shock caps (built to emulsion) OR TKR8702 Aluminum Emulsion Shock caps
TKR8027 Shock Stand Offs
TKR6051 8x1.3 pistons(drilled to 1.4mm)
TKR8104 .4 bellcranks
TKR8100 .4 ackerman
TKR5545B HRC Hubs
You also need the Aluminum C Block (others can stay composite)

What option parts should I consider buying with a new kit?
None are required but we recommend the following:

TKR5161 – V2 Adjustable Hinge Pin Brace “A” block, 7075 CNC, EB/NB/ET/NT/SCT) - Helps to improve durability on hard crashes.

TKR5163 – V2 Adjustable Hinge Pin Brace “C” block, 7075 CNC, EB/NB/ET/NT/SCT) - Helps to improve durability on hard crashes.

TKR5545B – HRC Rear Hubs (L/R, CV or uni, SCT.3/SL) - Improves stability of the rear on mid to corner exit. Allows harder acceleration on corner exit.

TKR6146 - CNC Delrin Shock Cartridge Set

TiNi Shock Shafts
-TKR6004T (front)
-TKR6017T (rear)

What spare parts should I keep on hand?
TKR5020 – Hinge Pins (inner, front/rear)
TKR5516 – Front Suspension Arms and TKR5515 – Rear Suspension Arms
TKR5542 – Spindle Carriers - TKR5541B Spindles
TKR6009 – Shock O-Ring and Bladder Set (for 2 shocks)

Tips and Tricks

List of Vehicle Setup Adjustments and Build Tips can be found here. There are several videos and articles detailing the building of shocks, diffs, camber links, etc.

Use steering stops/limiter washers... more info here.

Setup Sheets:
Setup sheets for all Tekno RC vehicles can be found here. Please be sure to try our recommended setup. It works very well on most tracks.

Hinge Pin Insert Chart:

Warranty Policy:
Tekno RC is the only company in the industry that will give 50% off of parts if returned to them using the General Warranty return policy found on their website. The parts can be lightly used or completely abused, as long as the part is still being produced it's covered!

Piston Drills:
Some of our setups recommend using pistons that are enlarged. For instance 4x1.9 or 3x2.0. To drill the pistons we recommend the following:
GMK Supply Piston Drill Set
16PC Metric Bit Set Metric Sizes 2.00 to 3.00 MM.

I finally got my tekno 410.3 to the track.

Im running some 2s batteries that are 5100mah (Vant) with the 4700kv xerun hobbywing and a 120a SCT ESC from trackstar. https://www.hobbyking.com/en_us/turn...truck-esc.html

I had power cutoff every time and never made it past 5 minutes. is it possible that motor was too much for the ESC or that its pulling too much power from the 2s batteries? Almost every time this happened the battery was at lipo cutoff.

Im going to get some smc batteries for racing but am wondering if I need a new ESC as well.

It says its rated for 4pole motors so im kind of at a loss at what my problem could be.

I was out there too running the Xerun setup with the 4000kv and we kept having issues where it seemed the lipo cells were cutting off at around 3.7 3.8 volts.

I think the batteries that came with my used one was just worn out.

Also any suggestions for getting it tuned right in terms of jumping, it noses down really fast if you cut the throttle at all but if I keep the throttle pinned it would almost do a backflip.

I am pretty new so ideally I get it setup to hold an even throttle or even let off a little in the air

What batteries and bodies are you guys running for outdoor?

Hobbywing just announced their new SCT Pro and it now has a 7.4v BEC with the ability to WIFI connect with an adapter.

Here is a chart to look at that I made for comparison

is the new sct pro only available from hobby wing? it looks like amain just stocks the older generation.

With these big motors in the SCT trucks you need a minimum......minimum of a 7000 mah battery. I would recommend a nice 7500-8000 mah battery. Running a lipo battery down to the voltage cutoff every time, will trash that battery (puff) really quick.

If you buy a bigger mah battery, then you will get at least 10 minutes with that battery/motor combo.

I went with the True Spec and am very happy with them. I was told the 6000 might not be enough for longer mains, so I didn't bother... but the 7200 90c True Spec's are great from my experience.

Also, I can't believe how well my truck is handling... another easy 2nd this weekend racing it.... Just wish my EB would handle half as good as my SCT... ughhh

the 5100mah battery is definitely an issue. Minimum 7000MAH for these heavy trucks with that motor, or any motor in this range....And also check to make sure your ESC has teh latest firmware version. They had an issue where it cutoff too early...ideally you should always pull your truck when it hit's roughly 3.8v per cell...Even in practice, I run no longer than 6 minutes. Running to lipo cutoff every time, as said above, will kill your batteries early.

We were ending runs around 3.7 3.8. My theory was the draw was so high it was making it feel under load that it was at lipo cutoff sooner.

I tried a 3s but it was just too crazy on the power

Any suggestions on tuning jump behavior? Mainly in terms of how it responds to the throttle

Sorry about that, I had to scroll up to see your OG post.

Well, for starters, with a 4000kv motor you should be running an 18t pinion, or 17t is a very tight technical track.

Body I like and prefer is the jconcepts f250 body. It holds up well, and has good flight characteristics when coupled with the side air guards. I'm currently running the fusion body, but my next body I will be going back.

In air "Donkey kick"...Stiffen the rear shocks...Try 30wt oil, and green rear springs. Alot of guys like pink/pink or pink/green springs. I'm currently running green springs on all 4 corners.

Josh L also has a recommendation with anti-squat to fix that, but I don't remember what it was.

With these trucks, you'll figure out how they drive, as they like to be driven a certain way. With plenty of track time you'll get it figured out.

How would the 4000 540 compare to a 4300 550? My 4300 550 is amazing, but I am curious how a 540 would be... I see a lot of them being used

The 4300 is a torque monster, the 4000kv IMHO is a bit smoother. Both should be on 17t-18t pinions in our trucks, 4300kv more 18t to tame it down just a little. The HW 4700kv is also a good option, but I always had issues keeping the wires connected. I'm currently running the SMC-racing.net 4500kv motor, and really like it. And for the price, I can't complain.

not sure how much of it applies to the sct410.3 but with the other versions when fighting the nose down issue watch for traction loss relative to spring change. I never could get that quiet settled before I switched vehicles but it may be improved now.

As for motor, personally I still find the Hobbywing 3656SD 4000Kv motor a great all around motor. It runs relatively cool in comparison to other 540 and 550 offerings while still having great power. I migrated to the Maclan 4150kv motor which is a great motor, but for the money you can't go wrong with the HW motor.

As for battery, yes, on 2S you want the biggest capacity and C rating you can get. Vants 8000mah 2S 100C lipos worked great on my previous durango DESC10 that is heavier than the tekno, no issues.

Thanks for the heads up guys i ended up going with the 7200 mah smcs so we will see how these do.

And yeah I wasnt trying to run to lipo cutoff everytime it was just happening after 4 minutes.

On my ebuggy i practice for 15 min at the most then pull it to cool down and recharge. Thats what i was planning to do with my truck but we will see how long I can run my truck for.

I bought the new hobbywing esc to compare it to the 120A sct trackstar in case I have more problems, but from what im hearing from you guys it really just seems like I need beefier batters then the ones i was previously using on my 2wd SCT.
