Welcome to the SCT410.3 Wiki!

7.26.17 - BB
In order to run the recommended team setup, you need the following optional parts:
TKR6106 Orange LF Springs
TKR6114 Green LF Springs
TKR6018 composite shock caps (built to emulsion) OR TKR8702 Aluminum Emulsion Shock caps
TKR8027 Shock Stand Offs
TKR6051 8x1.3 pistons(drilled to 1.4mm)
TKR8104 .4 bellcranks
TKR8100 .4 ackerman
TKR5545B HRC Hubs
You also need the Aluminum C Block (others can stay composite)

What option parts should I consider buying with a new kit?
None are required but we recommend the following:

TKR5161 – V2 Adjustable Hinge Pin Brace “A” block, 7075 CNC, EB/NB/ET/NT/SCT) - Helps to improve durability on hard crashes.

TKR5163 – V2 Adjustable Hinge Pin Brace “C” block, 7075 CNC, EB/NB/ET/NT/SCT) - Helps to improve durability on hard crashes.

TKR5545B – HRC Rear Hubs (L/R, CV or uni, SCT.3/SL) - Improves stability of the rear on mid to corner exit. Allows harder acceleration on corner exit.

TKR6146 - CNC Delrin Shock Cartridge Set

TiNi Shock Shafts
-TKR6004T (front)
-TKR6017T (rear)

What spare parts should I keep on hand?
TKR5020 – Hinge Pins (inner, front/rear)
TKR5516 – Front Suspension Arms and TKR5515 – Rear Suspension Arms
TKR5542 – Spindle Carriers - TKR5541B Spindles
TKR6009 – Shock O-Ring and Bladder Set (for 2 shocks)

Tips and Tricks

List of Vehicle Setup Adjustments and Build Tips can be found here. There are several videos and articles detailing the building of shocks, diffs, camber links, etc.

Use steering stops/limiter washers... more info here.

Setup Sheets:
Setup sheets for all Tekno RC vehicles can be found here. Please be sure to try our recommended setup. It works very well on most tracks.

Hinge Pin Insert Chart:

Warranty Policy:
Tekno RC is the only company in the industry that will give 50% off of parts if returned to them using the General Warranty return policy found on their website. The parts can be lightly used or completely abused, as long as the part is still being produced it's covered!

Piston Drills:
Some of our setups recommend using pistons that are enlarged. For instance 4x1.9 or 3x2.0. To drill the pistons we recommend the following:
GMK Supply Piston Drill Set
16PC Metric Bit Set Metric Sizes 2.00 to 3.00 MM.

got a message that we may see these vehicles shipped (to the distributors?) in as little as a couple of weeks here. So maybe we'll all have something more to discuss soon

So how about 3s for these, as in the outdoor season. I say run the same system in these as you would in an 8th scale buggy, including the tires. Maybe call it the new outlaw class?

I like the looks of the new Durango, but I like this better. I'm getting one of these for myself and my son. We both have tricked out 4x4 Slashes. It's time to upgrade ! I'll be running both of them on 3s. Not sure what sensored motor and ESC? I have Tekin now. My son has stock. Maybe either the Tekin T8I 2700kv or the Pro4 3300kv. Any suggestions?

+1 for the pro4 3300 on 3s. One question though, why 3s? These trucks are heavy as it is. I see most around 6 lbs. 10 oz. plus or minus a few ozs. So why add more weight?

Thanks, if your truck was heavier, would you run a regular size battery? I'm trying to figure out if it would be better to run shorties or regular size batteries.

My 4300mah 3s batteries weigh 1oz less than the 6500mah 2s batteries I'm currently using in my 4x4 SCT. I'm using the 3s batteries in my crawlers so I've got a few.

I don't know if I could make a 7 min. Main on a 4300mah.

The voltage makes the difference on run times. If you use 3s, make sure your track allows it. Most are only running 2s batteries. I think they should all go to 3s outdoors.

I completely agree, especially for the SL class. You can get the same performance, with less heat.

It won't fit, the .3 uses 4mm turnbuckles.

If it was heavier I'd probably run a bigger battery. But running a shorty saves weight too, close to 4 ounces. It also helps that the mains at my track are usually 6 minutes or less.

matthew, anything different in the side pod plastics? does the .3 put the battery back further (and eliminate the need for the battery tray mod)?

I could go with a 5000mah 3s battery. My 6500mah 2s weighs 11.29oz. 4300mah 3s weighs 10.37oz and a 5000mah 3s weighs 12.90oz. I don't race anymore. I don't care about weight. I just like to go to the track on practice days and drive for 3-4 hrs. I just want longer run times per battery and lower heat in the summer.

You'd probably have no problem making a 7 min main with a 4300mah 3s. You get longer run times than you think with 3s.
