Welcome to the SCT410.3 Wiki!

7.26.17 - BB
In order to run the recommended team setup, you need the following optional parts:
TKR6106 Orange LF Springs
TKR6114 Green LF Springs
TKR6018 composite shock caps (built to emulsion) OR TKR8702 Aluminum Emulsion Shock caps
TKR8027 Shock Stand Offs
TKR6051 8x1.3 pistons(drilled to 1.4mm)
TKR8104 .4 bellcranks
TKR8100 .4 ackerman
TKR5545B HRC Hubs
You also need the Aluminum C Block (others can stay composite)

What option parts should I consider buying with a new kit?
None are required but we recommend the following:

TKR5161 – V2 Adjustable Hinge Pin Brace “A” block, 7075 CNC, EB/NB/ET/NT/SCT) - Helps to improve durability on hard crashes.

TKR5163 – V2 Adjustable Hinge Pin Brace “C” block, 7075 CNC, EB/NB/ET/NT/SCT) - Helps to improve durability on hard crashes.

TKR5545B – HRC Rear Hubs (L/R, CV or uni, SCT.3/SL) - Improves stability of the rear on mid to corner exit. Allows harder acceleration on corner exit.

TKR6146 - CNC Delrin Shock Cartridge Set

TiNi Shock Shafts
-TKR6004T (front)
-TKR6017T (rear)

What spare parts should I keep on hand?
TKR5020 – Hinge Pins (inner, front/rear)
TKR5516 – Front Suspension Arms and TKR5515 – Rear Suspension Arms
TKR5542 – Spindle Carriers - TKR5541B Spindles
TKR6009 – Shock O-Ring and Bladder Set (for 2 shocks)

Tips and Tricks

List of Vehicle Setup Adjustments and Build Tips can be found here. There are several videos and articles detailing the building of shocks, diffs, camber links, etc.

Use steering stops/limiter washers... more info here.

Setup Sheets:
Setup sheets for all Tekno RC vehicles can be found here. Please be sure to try our recommended setup. It works very well on most tracks.

Hinge Pin Insert Chart:

Warranty Policy:
Tekno RC is the only company in the industry that will give 50% off of parts if returned to them using the General Warranty return policy found on their website. The parts can be lightly used or completely abused, as long as the part is still being produced it's covered!

Piston Drills:
Some of our setups recommend using pistons that are enlarged. For instance 4x1.9 or 3x2.0. To drill the pistons we recommend the following:
GMK Supply Piston Drill Set
16PC Metric Bit Set Metric Sizes 2.00 to 3.00 MM.

TKR5571A will match the same width as the stock .3 hex and the stock plastic hex from the original.

TKR1654X will fit but will add +1 offset on each side, making your truck wider.

I keep a set of both on hand for tuning purposes with the original SCT410.

standard shipping is the Best bang for the buck, and it always gets there fast, as others have mentioned. We have the SCT410.3 for $387 shipped. We ship every package, every day, no delays.

I suspect if questioned, most people here get there stuff from us in 2-4 days.

.
Commercial UPS account prices (like yours) aren't anywhere near retail for UPS. I'm sure you guys ship enough to get a good rate. I stand by preposterous, because for the same 2nd-day UPS shipping for a kit, is $15 for Saver Club Members, or $24.49 from Chico.

I just paid $28 to ship my .3 via USPS Priority. That would be my recommendation, add options for shipping. Priority is a great option for those of us who like speedier shipping.

So, most folks who know me know I've generally liked the ProTek servos (130T and 150T for SCT410 and EB48 respectively). I recently had an issue with the 150T and decided I would try the newest Savox stuff and picked up a 2274SG. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the lead is long enough for the Tekno vehicles without extensions. The Savox clocks in at .08/347 at 7.4 volts and is brushless. Thanks to the plastic top, it is a few grams lighter too, so not a bad thing for the SC and SL. I'll try to remember to provide an update once I've run it a bit (starting in my EB48 converted to SL).

Just have to wire up the ESC/Motor and we're ready to go! This took me a while but this was a fun build.

Savox makes some nice stuff... Until the little plastic plate that runs in between the top and the aluminum snaps off inside the main gear. I got a whole bag of blown out savox servos. So far my protek has been solid.

If you u haven't wired it up yet i would turn your esc around so you have better access to the hot wire port and to make the wires much more clean. I have it the way you do on my .1 and have always wanted to turn it around. I definitely will when i build my .3 today. Just my experience with it and only mho. Have fun truck looks great!

I've been trying to place an order on the AMAIN site for 2 days and I get an error that says "This web page has a redirect loop. Too many redirects". Does anyone know what's going on with this?

I would have been inclined to mount the ESC the way he did. Seems counter intuitive to put the ESC posts away from the motor? Is that how most are doing it with the Tekno trucks?

Orion your layout looks good to me. Keep it. Here is a pic of another layout like yours with wires. I copied it and am very happy with the lack of wire clutter I see in other cars.

I run the ESC the other way around with the posts on the front in order to keep it matching my eBuggy Lite. I do it that way because of allowing more air down the side, past the ESC, to hit the motor. That doesn't matter in SC though, as the airflow isn't coming from just a couple small holes. The only thing to suggest is that if you keep it with the posts towards the back of the vehicle, make sure you secure the sensor wire so it can't flop over/down into the drivetrain on a huge crash or flat land.

You have to have 90 posts on this site before you can sell.
