Welcome to the SCT410.3 Wiki!

7.26.17 - BB
In order to run the recommended team setup, you need the following optional parts:
TKR6106 Orange LF Springs
TKR6114 Green LF Springs
TKR6018 composite shock caps (built to emulsion) OR TKR8702 Aluminum Emulsion Shock caps
TKR8027 Shock Stand Offs
TKR6051 8x1.3 pistons(drilled to 1.4mm)
TKR8104 .4 bellcranks
TKR8100 .4 ackerman
TKR5545B HRC Hubs
You also need the Aluminum C Block (others can stay composite)

What option parts should I consider buying with a new kit?
None are required but we recommend the following:

TKR5161 – V2 Adjustable Hinge Pin Brace “A” block, 7075 CNC, EB/NB/ET/NT/SCT) - Helps to improve durability on hard crashes.

TKR5163 – V2 Adjustable Hinge Pin Brace “C” block, 7075 CNC, EB/NB/ET/NT/SCT) - Helps to improve durability on hard crashes.

TKR5545B – HRC Rear Hubs (L/R, CV or uni, SCT.3/SL) - Improves stability of the rear on mid to corner exit. Allows harder acceleration on corner exit.

TKR6146 - CNC Delrin Shock Cartridge Set

TiNi Shock Shafts
-TKR6004T (front)
-TKR6017T (rear)

What spare parts should I keep on hand?
TKR5020 – Hinge Pins (inner, front/rear)
TKR5516 – Front Suspension Arms and TKR5515 – Rear Suspension Arms
TKR5542 – Spindle Carriers - TKR5541B Spindles
TKR6009 – Shock O-Ring and Bladder Set (for 2 shocks)

Tips and Tricks

List of Vehicle Setup Adjustments and Build Tips can be found here. There are several videos and articles detailing the building of shocks, diffs, camber links, etc.

Use steering stops/limiter washers... more info here.

Setup Sheets:
Setup sheets for all Tekno RC vehicles can be found here. Please be sure to try our recommended setup. It works very well on most tracks.

Hinge Pin Insert Chart:

Warranty Policy:
Tekno RC is the only company in the industry that will give 50% off of parts if returned to them using the General Warranty return policy found on their website. The parts can be lightly used or completely abused, as long as the part is still being produced it's covered!

Piston Drills:
Some of our setups recommend using pistons that are enlarged. For instance 4x1.9 or 3x2.0. To drill the pistons we recommend the following:
GMK Supply Piston Drill Set
16PC Metric Bit Set Metric Sizes 2.00 to 3.00 MM.

Try going to 2.5 degrees of rear toe to free up the rear end before dropping the diffs, the least amount of toe you can get away with is going to yield the highest corner speed.

thanks. I'll give that a try . Out side of that the car feels really good. Just need a tick more consistent rotation.

I'll post my setup tonight though to get any more advice.

Cain, here's what I run on my SCT.

R/C Tech Forums - View Single Post - Official Tekno RC SCT410.3 Thread

Here's the track I based it off of (Motorama 2017)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M11WrOPlLT4

I am ordering the new springs and ackerman next week so I'll probably switch up to something closer to what Joe ran at Motorama (it's on Tekno's site).

Default Lf springs

I have a .3 and am running the stock springs that came in the kit.
Installed the upgraded steering system as well as the rear hubs. Running 30 weight Losi oil in frt and 50 in rear.
What do you all recommend for the new springs frt
and rear??? Track is hard pack and gets dry slick. The frt end springs are to stiff and rear is to soft. Are pink frts and green rear the way to go? Rear of chassis is getting marked up. Frt is good. Collars are set to lowest setting in frt and are cranked up in the rear.

So I did some more racing and I think I got my truck almost exactly like I want it to feel.

One of the biggest changes I made was playing with rear roll center. Before I was running the front pill on the lowest position for "Zero" antisquat up front, but looking at the setups after doing some more research on antisquat, when you have say the RF pill at the lowest position on the alloy block, and the RR pill at say the highest position, is that what is called "pro squat"?

I ended up going with the RF pill at the middle position, and then the RR at middle but half degree toe in and it felt really good. It transitioned turns better without breaking free suddenly but I had more traction on power.

I just want a hair bit more offpower steering, using AE diff oils and assuming the setups I am seeing are using PT racing, I think the AE is supposed to feel thicker so I may go to 10-10-5 versus the 15-15-5 I am using now.

I'll post my full setup tonight but the pill locations relative to anti-squat and pro-squat I am curious on. Is there a chart out there that shows the different combos?

You can't get any lower than 0 degrees antisquat even with the aluminum c block

For more off power steering raise up your inner front camber link (like from 5 hole to 4 hole), or thinner front sway bar, or less kick up in the A and B blocks.

There is a chart that explains the pill positions at the bottom of the setup sheets.

Hey folks. 1st post on this forum and new to the Tekno so be nice - haha Actually kind of new to the RC world.

Just started racing a 4wd slash a couple of months back and recently decided to get a Tekno. My buddy sold me a used EB48SL and I want to convert it to the SCT410.3. There isn't a 1/8 scale buggy class on race nights.

My question is: What parts do I need to convert it to the SCT410.3. I know I need bumpers, body mounts and rims & tires.

What else will I need?

Any suggestions on what I should hop up from the get go?

Thanks a ton in advance.....

Thanks for the info and I see the pills charts on the bottom.

I guess my question is more so to get a better understanding of how the angle of the pin possibly affects things.

So for example, I have the zero antisquat setting up front, but the max high pill setting in the rear giving that downward sloping angle going Rear to Front. I am assuming Roll Center, etc.

Something like this kind of chart is what I am thinking:

https://www.teamassociated.com/pdf/c...Pill-Chart.pdf

Thanks for your help!

My brother and I are looking to purchase new 4x4 trucks and we were wondering if there has been any discussion of a .4 coming out anytime soon?

It wouldn't be anytime soon I can almost guarantee that. Tekno still needs to release their 4x4 1/10 buggy so I am sure all efforts are currently being put toward getting that car on the streets.

Also shopping for a 4WD SC truck - Given this truck won't be replaced anytime soon, how is it holding up against other trucks in the class? I race AE stuff but since they don't offer a race spec kit in this class, would I be better off going with a Tekno or Losi (if there is any comparable parts or "feel"). Also, what truck would last the longest in terms of parts support (I tend to get a new truck not very often. The class is pretty popular by me and on a small to medium sized outdoor track that is a loose redish type dirt (like baseball diamond dirt kinda) that is loose but also slick at the same time and pretty rough in the turns. My AE B5FL dances around the track but my 1/8 scale 777-e buggy gets upset by the bumpiness and I have a hard time clearing the big triple consistently.

Also will be running on an indoor clay track with high grip surface and they run slicks.

Thanks!

I thought I saw the .4 buggy on their site already.

Also, what would be a good starting body for this truck?
