Welcome to the SCT410.3 Wiki!

7.26.17 - BB
In order to run the recommended team setup, you need the following optional parts:
TKR6106 Orange LF Springs
TKR6114 Green LF Springs
TKR6018 composite shock caps (built to emulsion) OR TKR8702 Aluminum Emulsion Shock caps
TKR8027 Shock Stand Offs
TKR6051 8x1.3 pistons(drilled to 1.4mm)
TKR8104 .4 bellcranks
TKR8100 .4 ackerman
TKR5545B HRC Hubs
You also need the Aluminum C Block (others can stay composite)

What option parts should I consider buying with a new kit?
None are required but we recommend the following:

TKR5161 – V2 Adjustable Hinge Pin Brace “A” block, 7075 CNC, EB/NB/ET/NT/SCT) - Helps to improve durability on hard crashes.

TKR5163 – V2 Adjustable Hinge Pin Brace “C” block, 7075 CNC, EB/NB/ET/NT/SCT) - Helps to improve durability on hard crashes.

TKR5545B – HRC Rear Hubs (L/R, CV or uni, SCT.3/SL) - Improves stability of the rear on mid to corner exit. Allows harder acceleration on corner exit.

TKR6146 - CNC Delrin Shock Cartridge Set

TiNi Shock Shafts
-TKR6004T (front)
-TKR6017T (rear)

What spare parts should I keep on hand?
TKR5020 – Hinge Pins (inner, front/rear)
TKR5516 – Front Suspension Arms and TKR5515 – Rear Suspension Arms
TKR5542 – Spindle Carriers - TKR5541B Spindles
TKR6009 – Shock O-Ring and Bladder Set (for 2 shocks)

Tips and Tricks

List of Vehicle Setup Adjustments and Build Tips can be found here. There are several videos and articles detailing the building of shocks, diffs, camber links, etc.

Use steering stops/limiter washers... more info here.

Setup Sheets:
Setup sheets for all Tekno RC vehicles can be found here. Please be sure to try our recommended setup. It works very well on most tracks.

Hinge Pin Insert Chart:

Warranty Policy:
Tekno RC is the only company in the industry that will give 50% off of parts if returned to them using the General Warranty return policy found on their website. The parts can be lightly used or completely abused, as long as the part is still being produced it's covered!

Piston Drills:
Some of our setups recommend using pistons that are enlarged. For instance 4x1.9 or 3x2.0. To drill the pistons we recommend the following:
GMK Supply Piston Drill Set
16PC Metric Bit Set Metric Sizes 2.00 to 3.00 MM.

The only thing I'm seeing so far is to not tighten the wheel hex set screws much if using the ones that come with it. Just snug them so you don't stress the axle nor provide more force to crack the hex.

I still plan on using the aluminum hexes instead of these which I think are a cast steel. Shouldn't be much weight difference, but my al ones have been great, so I'll go with them again.

Thinking of installing the elektronics i mentioned a lack of weight on the batterie side or to many parts on the right side:

Batterie: 300g left side
Right side: motor 260g, servo 70g, reciever and transponder 30g, controller 80g, plus wires etc. total: ~450g

I will use: Tenshock SC 411 4600kv, LRP IX8, Sanwa SRG BR, Sanwa 451, AMB.
The diff shims can be made a little easier with a small chamfer on the corner of the transmition case to help them slide into place.

For weight, keep in mind the battery sticks further out, so while the side is lighter, more weight further out helps to balance. That being said, you're also using a heavy full 550 length motor and heavy ESC, which help it be more out of balance. It won't get perfect, but it does get a lot closer with lighter electronics and a heavier 325+ 7k+ pack.

I used to be like you and wonder why we didn't always run 10 minute mains. I used maybe 2k on larger outdoor tracks or medium high grip tracks. Then...then I learned to use brake and throttle more aggressively in short burst sections, and I picked up a few tenths but started burning 3700+ in the same truck on the same track. That was back in my pre Tekno days, and if I need to stretch I'll drive like that when not battling to help both electronic heat and mah usage. It is a give and take.

Anyone know what size the shims are that fit behind the aluminum hex nuts on the stub axles?

While waiting around for tower hobbies I got my new pro-line evo sc body ready.

I won't be winning any awards for my paint skills but I think it looks pretty good

I asked the same question a while back and now am able to return the favor.
The answer I got was part# ser600215 from Amain (8x11x0.2mm) and it worked perfectly. Now pay it forward!!!

For the SC and SL, the shims that go behind the hex are PN: TKR1230 and are only needed if you have excessive play between the hex and the bearing.http://www.teknorc.com/shop/tkr1230-...m-shims-10pcs/

I think you might be referring to the shims that you could use on the 8th scale, as they use an 8mm stub axle.

That is correct, those are for the1/8 buggy. My bad! Thanks for clarifying.

I can appreciate your position. but, Preposterous? UPS rates aren't set by us.

Go ahead and type 12x12x24 and 12 pounds, $400 into the UPS calculator. We're at 59230 (how close was it?)
https://wwwapps.ups.com/ctc

standard shipping is the Best bang for the buck, and it always gets there fast, as others have mentioned. We have the SCT410.3 for $387 shipped. We ship every package, every day, no delays.

I suspect if questioned, most people here get there stuff from us in 2-4 days.

Here is how I made the truck:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XRiGrqi4zV0

I could not catch the full assembly when Gopro did have lack of charge before starting the job. Anyway, it is a great kitt to mae and my first test drive was awesome.

It feels like the first version of the truck but jumps much better and feels that it is not falling as easy as the old version.

At this point I could not be more positive with my new truck! Great work Tekno!

Thanks, this might have saved me 1h and al lot of fear for damaging the shims. But diffs run perfektly! Inside crown gears seem to be a little heavy.

Bougt new batteries 7500mah (Turnigy Ultimate, 314g).

As a spacer at the rear axle i used 5mm x 0,3mm shims and grinded them to 6mm+ at the inside.

Ordered a scale for 4 weel setup (sky rc), will get it in 14 days to measure every weight of the cars.

I hope to be driving the Tekno on may, 1. (The club is rebuliding the clay-track) Next race (2. and 3. of may) will be on carpet.
This season only a few races are on clay, it is a little bit disapointing here in Germany.
