Welcome to the SCT410.3 Wiki!

7.26.17 - BB
In order to run the recommended team setup, you need the following optional parts:
TKR6106 Orange LF Springs
TKR6114 Green LF Springs
TKR6018 composite shock caps (built to emulsion) OR TKR8702 Aluminum Emulsion Shock caps
TKR8027 Shock Stand Offs
TKR6051 8x1.3 pistons(drilled to 1.4mm)
TKR8104 .4 bellcranks
TKR8100 .4 ackerman
TKR5545B HRC Hubs
You also need the Aluminum C Block (others can stay composite)

What option parts should I consider buying with a new kit?
None are required but we recommend the following:

TKR5161 – V2 Adjustable Hinge Pin Brace “A” block, 7075 CNC, EB/NB/ET/NT/SCT) - Helps to improve durability on hard crashes.

TKR5163 – V2 Adjustable Hinge Pin Brace “C” block, 7075 CNC, EB/NB/ET/NT/SCT) - Helps to improve durability on hard crashes.

TKR5545B – HRC Rear Hubs (L/R, CV or uni, SCT.3/SL) - Improves stability of the rear on mid to corner exit. Allows harder acceleration on corner exit.

TKR6146 - CNC Delrin Shock Cartridge Set

TiNi Shock Shafts
-TKR6004T (front)
-TKR6017T (rear)

What spare parts should I keep on hand?
TKR5020 – Hinge Pins (inner, front/rear)
TKR5516 – Front Suspension Arms and TKR5515 – Rear Suspension Arms
TKR5542 – Spindle Carriers - TKR5541B Spindles
TKR6009 – Shock O-Ring and Bladder Set (for 2 shocks)

Tips and Tricks

List of Vehicle Setup Adjustments and Build Tips can be found here. There are several videos and articles detailing the building of shocks, diffs, camber links, etc.

Use steering stops/limiter washers... more info here.

Setup Sheets:
Setup sheets for all Tekno RC vehicles can be found here. Please be sure to try our recommended setup. It works very well on most tracks.

Hinge Pin Insert Chart:

Warranty Policy:
Tekno RC is the only company in the industry that will give 50% off of parts if returned to them using the General Warranty return policy found on their website. The parts can be lightly used or completely abused, as long as the part is still being produced it's covered!

Piston Drills:
Some of our setups recommend using pistons that are enlarged. For instance 4x1.9 or 3x2.0. To drill the pistons we recommend the following:
GMK Supply Piston Drill Set
16PC Metric Bit Set Metric Sizes 2.00 to 3.00 MM.

I see 16-18 on the 4000-4700kv motors, wouldnt a lower Kv motor necessitate a larger pinion?
use one of the common speed calculators out there and shoot for a theoretical speed of 35 to 40mph.

If you have someone who can suggest gearing at your track for a 4000kv to 4700kv motor, then just determine that theoretical speed for a starting point and find what achieves this with your current KV motors. From there, watch temps.

That will in general get you in the ball part.

A 16t should be a good place to start with the 3000kv on 3s.
A 21t should be a good place to start with the 3500kv on 2s.

You're correct in that a lower KV motor would normally run a larger pinion, but only if the voltage is the same. Since your 3000 is running 3s, the higher voltage actually cancels the need for a larger pinion out, since the motor will be spinning faster than it would be on 2s.

Just about to pull the trigger on a sct410.3 and would thought i'll ask for opinions about the electronics.

I'm planning to use it for casual racing at outdoor loose coarse dirt BMX tracks some the size of 1/8 and some 1/10th. It's mostly going to be fun with friends and no RC clubs so no requirements for ROAR legal electronics.

I'm leaning towards Hobbywing for the ESC + Motor. Should I be looking at 3400, 4000 or 4700 KV for these sort of tracks?
My budget is up to $200 for ESC & Motor and I'm open to other suggestions besides HW

Cheers!
HW 4000 kv paired with this esc !!! You'll love it.

Thank you, that makes more sense, with the higher voltage

I was curious what setup people are using indoors, we are running slicks on a tight track with small jumps. I am traction rolling like crazy right now. I was going to try emulation shocks and I have the hrc rear hubs

Has anyone raced the Flo-Tek Fusion?

Usually i dont go pre cut but thus one isnt that much more expensive then a shell.

post your setup.

When you say slicks, are you saying super soft or clay?

Out here the fast tekno guys are running on extremely high traction carpet with slicks clay compound. Some even use the harder proline tires like street fighters. Common things I can tell are they:

- Go with heavy sway bars
- stiffer springs
- Limit droop alot . Not uncommon to see the front come off of a jump with little droop, almost arms level.

That just from what I can tell visually. I am also assuming they are using smaller hole pistons, heavier shock oil, and heavier diff fluid too.

Yup, works fine. And the precut is perfect. I hate trimming bodies and putting holes in them.

I use a 17t on 3000kv on 3s. This is about the same as 17t on 4300, maybe 1 or so mph faster.
