i dont know about that cause , as per phone conversation with tekno . that truck was tekno balanced & fitted for 2 cells. i just never bothered to ask for the battery weight . due to my set up being 3 cell.

Lowes48 I will be the next to do this. Been thinking of doing this after I saw a post on a different forum of someone doing this. Did you have to change much on the rear setup with more weight back there. I see you have real short rear links. And if I may ask why do you have your shocks in on the tower in the front. And out on the tower in the rear? I run a track just like that. With that kind of clay and I run M4 primes just like you are.

Is there a recent 'pro' setup for this truck. Looking for something on a med bite hard packed dirt.. grooves up in the line a little bit at times w/ some loom on the edges.

Just picked up a new kit for one of these and found this cool thread. Bought it for indoor dirt track a mile or so from my house. I'll be around.

[QUOTE=SerpJimmy;14504985]So i'm now wondering what Weight battery tekno used to balance ?
Also, To eliminate some inconsistency, did you also balance without shocks & Wheels attached ?
Was Car coming in contact with scale in exact same location on all scales?
Switch scales around?
I noticed you removed the mud guards from earlier photo . Reason for that ? [QUOTE]
I think the only way to have the original configuration balance is to use the heaviest 2s you can find, low profile servo, lightest esc like Orion r10 and a 540 can motor. And maybe it might be close but the choice of those components are limited!!
I would never run my car without shocks/wheels so....no i didn't weight the car without those , unless i'm missing your point.
I did weigh it several times and the results are the same. The first 3 pics are my friend's car i was working on . I do not run mud guards.

Here's a video of my truck(yellow/white) on a very good size triple without holding on to the throttle or using brake.

Regarding to the rear,I'm running the same setup as I did prior but I actually lighten the oil up front to help the weight transfer while going through turn.
Our clay is very very very tacky and will traction roll anything including stock, mod and 4x4 buggy with 15mm ride height. I run short link in the rear because I want a lot of camber gain when I'm going in the turn. Same reason why I run the shocks that way.I'm just trying to loose the rear end so it doesn't grab going in to the turn and traction roll. So,I lean the front shocks in for more bite and stand up the rear for less bite.
I hope that help.

Unbalanced wheels need to removed when balancing entire truck due inconsistencies. Or weigh & balance them ..
Shocks need to removed due to variable shock oil fill level/weight. *More importantly , Inconsistent / variable spring rates can influence down pressure on wheels.

Got it.
I'm happy with where I'm at . All I know is the car was way off balance with the components I have installed and now it balanced both on scale and how it handle on the track. If you're running a 3s set up you should have it very close.
So i'm now wondering what Weight battery tekno used to balance ?

I've been working on my Tekno for a little over a year trying to get it as good or better than my previous truck(scte). It has been a challenge to say the least but i do love the challenge and i do love this truck.
I've always feel that the truck lacking on a right turn layout and have spend a lot of time chasing setups, tires, springs etc. Finally ....as i scale the truck and to my surprise the truck isn't balance from left to right.(heavier on right side) Battery mod only move the weight slightly back but not side to side. I knew what i have to do but dragging my feet knowing the the esc wires are too short to relocate to the left rear of the truck. But one night after taking a podium on a Saturday night race in most of the time but never the 1st place, i came home and get busy on the job in hand.
Anyway, the Hobbywing fit perfectly on the left rear and since i was in a cutting mode i also eliminated the radio box to loose 26 more grams .
I thought i would share this with you guys because i know i'm tired of chasing those Losi guys lol
and happy to say i podium in 1st this wkd with only a few laps on this new change.
A short video of on track practice(white/yellow car)on a very high traction indoor track.

Very nice! I'm reconfiguring my electronics layout the same as yours to test it out except I'm leaving the receiver in the stock location.

Has anyone tried VRP game changer Pistons yet ?

I talked to the owner of VRP and he said there is design work going on with the game changers for the Tekno. He's apparently working directly with Ryan Lutz on coming up with a package. I'm going to give them a shot as soon as I hear that they have found something that works well.
