Welcome to the SCT410.3 Wiki!

7.26.17 - BB
In order to run the recommended team setup, you need the following optional parts:
TKR6106 Orange LF Springs
TKR6114 Green LF Springs
TKR6018 composite shock caps (built to emulsion) OR TKR8702 Aluminum Emulsion Shock caps
TKR8027 Shock Stand Offs
TKR6051 8x1.3 pistons(drilled to 1.4mm)
TKR8104 .4 bellcranks
TKR8100 .4 ackerman
TKR5545B HRC Hubs
You also need the Aluminum C Block (others can stay composite)

What option parts should I consider buying with a new kit?
None are required but we recommend the following:

TKR5161 – V2 Adjustable Hinge Pin Brace “A” block, 7075 CNC, EB/NB/ET/NT/SCT) - Helps to improve durability on hard crashes.

TKR5163 – V2 Adjustable Hinge Pin Brace “C” block, 7075 CNC, EB/NB/ET/NT/SCT) - Helps to improve durability on hard crashes.

TKR5545B – HRC Rear Hubs (L/R, CV or uni, SCT.3/SL) - Improves stability of the rear on mid to corner exit. Allows harder acceleration on corner exit.

TKR6146 - CNC Delrin Shock Cartridge Set

TiNi Shock Shafts
-TKR6004T (front)
-TKR6017T (rear)

What spare parts should I keep on hand?
TKR5020 – Hinge Pins (inner, front/rear)
TKR5516 – Front Suspension Arms and TKR5515 – Rear Suspension Arms
TKR5542 – Spindle Carriers - TKR5541B Spindles
TKR6009 – Shock O-Ring and Bladder Set (for 2 shocks)

Tips and Tricks

List of Vehicle Setup Adjustments and Build Tips can be found here. There are several videos and articles detailing the building of shocks, diffs, camber links, etc.

Use steering stops/limiter washers... more info here.

Setup Sheets:
Setup sheets for all Tekno RC vehicles can be found here. Please be sure to try our recommended setup. It works very well on most tracks.

Hinge Pin Insert Chart:

Warranty Policy:
Tekno RC is the only company in the industry that will give 50% off of parts if returned to them using the General Warranty return policy found on their website. The parts can be lightly used or completely abused, as long as the part is still being produced it's covered!

Piston Drills:
Some of our setups recommend using pistons that are enlarged. For instance 4x1.9 or 3x2.0. To drill the pistons we recommend the following:
GMK Supply Piston Drill Set
16PC Metric Bit Set Metric Sizes 2.00 to 3.00 MM.

What shock pistons are you using?A lot of people are using the 6x1.5 pistons.they give you just enough pack for the bigger jumps, but also are soft enough to handle rutted tracks better with the proper oil weight.

Was it leaking from the bleeder or from the cap? If it was from the bottom of the cap there's a seal you have to put their...... With the bleeder the only thing I could think of is that it wasn't tightened all of the way down.....

What would you say is the proper oil weight? I'm running 35-30, 6x1.5, pinks all around- it drove well but idk what everyone is running

Also as oil leaks out then it will bounce around

I am currently running pinks all around wit 400/300 oil and its ok, not great, but truck doesnt bounce around. Using 10x1.2 pistons. Also, if u have a lot of oil leaking from bleeder valve, u might make sure the bladder is still in place.

You just have to play around with different oil weights to find out what works best for your track conditions.

Anyone notice rear pinion play at the rear diff? Mines so bad the bearing in the diff housing walks itself out towards the deiveshaft. With the diff installed in the rear my pinion moves in and out like 4mm. It left rub marks on the rear diff cup cause its to deep.

That's impossible for the bearing to come out toward the driveshaft.

Chances are you didn't pinch fit the pinion to the pinion cup. Or you may have had the cup come loose enough to where the vibration lets it walk away. Pull out the rear diff and press the pinion as far into the case as you can. While pressing the pinion in with your finger, slide the input cup as far on the pinion as you can, but don't make it so tight that it puts pressure on the bearings.

It is if the pinion outdrive has come loose and moved forward on the pinion shaft.

Do you have a picture of this? If the center drive cup is pushed all the way in on the pinion and locked down on the pinion, the bearing and pinion shouldn't have any play. I would make sure my set screw is free of oil and snug everything up and see what happens. I had the center drive cup back off my diff pinions and bearing push out when i first built my nt48. I made sure the set screw was free of oil, loctite it and tighten it down again and it hasn't happened since.

Ahhh damn thanks guys I didn't realize the cup set the pinion depth. Yeah I had a little play between the diff cup and housing and that allowed everything to move back and forth. Cool beans it's perfect now

Default Snap oversteer - Mid corner, off power

Evening Gents, i'm looking for a bit of advice. I took my truck to a outdoor carpet track to practice for an upcoming race and the truck suffered from SEVERE snap oversteer.

Im running box setup and only changed out shock oils and centre diff (40/30 WT and 30000 cts on centre diff) on Proline pinpoints front and rear.

I tried running non carpet tyres front, but that just created excessive ondersteer and reduced acceleration. I dont have different springs or pistons to swop out.

What other changes can I attempt to curb this. Track is fairly smooth with only small jumps.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hopefully Cain will chime in on this issue, he has a lot of experience with carpet setups.

Shoot me a PM with your email and I'll send you a carpet setup i had prior to the track closing. It may give you a base you can start with that you feel comfortable with.

Here is a vid prior to me getting a better shock setup piston wise on the truck with carpet pin schumacher tires on a V1 SCT410. Old but I was already faster with the truck than my SC10 4x4 tuned every was.
