Welcome to the SCT410.3 Wiki!

7.26.17 - BB
In order to run the recommended team setup, you need the following optional parts:
TKR6106 Orange LF Springs
TKR6114 Green LF Springs
TKR6018 composite shock caps (built to emulsion) OR TKR8702 Aluminum Emulsion Shock caps
TKR8027 Shock Stand Offs
TKR6051 8x1.3 pistons(drilled to 1.4mm)
TKR8104 .4 bellcranks
TKR8100 .4 ackerman
TKR5545B HRC Hubs
You also need the Aluminum C Block (others can stay composite)

What option parts should I consider buying with a new kit?
None are required but we recommend the following:

TKR5161 – V2 Adjustable Hinge Pin Brace “A” block, 7075 CNC, EB/NB/ET/NT/SCT) - Helps to improve durability on hard crashes.

TKR5163 – V2 Adjustable Hinge Pin Brace “C” block, 7075 CNC, EB/NB/ET/NT/SCT) - Helps to improve durability on hard crashes.

TKR5545B – HRC Rear Hubs (L/R, CV or uni, SCT.3/SL) - Improves stability of the rear on mid to corner exit. Allows harder acceleration on corner exit.

TKR6146 - CNC Delrin Shock Cartridge Set

TiNi Shock Shafts
-TKR6004T (front)
-TKR6017T (rear)

What spare parts should I keep on hand?
TKR5020 – Hinge Pins (inner, front/rear)
TKR5516 – Front Suspension Arms and TKR5515 – Rear Suspension Arms
TKR5542 – Spindle Carriers - TKR5541B Spindles
TKR6009 – Shock O-Ring and Bladder Set (for 2 shocks)

Tips and Tricks

List of Vehicle Setup Adjustments and Build Tips can be found here. There are several videos and articles detailing the building of shocks, diffs, camber links, etc.

Use steering stops/limiter washers... more info here.

Setup Sheets:
Setup sheets for all Tekno RC vehicles can be found here. Please be sure to try our recommended setup. It works very well on most tracks.

Hinge Pin Insert Chart:

Warranty Policy:
Tekno RC is the only company in the industry that will give 50% off of parts if returned to them using the General Warranty return policy found on their website. The parts can be lightly used or completely abused, as long as the part is still being produced it's covered!

Piston Drills:
Some of our setups recommend using pistons that are enlarged. For instance 4x1.9 or 3x2.0. To drill the pistons we recommend the following:
GMK Supply Piston Drill Set
16PC Metric Bit Set Metric Sizes 2.00 to 3.00 MM.

I used the new recommended setup with 10x1.2mm pistons and older steering parts this weekend; my sct was very easy to drive.

what conditions?

I would think that's better. Definitely easier than drilling.

I run a 17t pinion.
7 on torque.
I don't remember the freq settings but I think I was probably 75/80 percent on the high frequency side. 100% brake and throttle. I use my radio to turn down my brakes if needed. I don't run drag brake. I don't run any timing and no boost.

Also, I believe if you check the Tekin website, they will have some setups that their drivers run that may give you a better idea of what you want to run.

Trying to put the new indoor/outdoor setup on my 410.3. The most droop/shock length I can get for the front shocks is 105. For the rear it's 120. Has anybody else tried using the new setup? If so, were you able to get the 107f/121r shock lengths?

If I recall correctly, the droop measured would be relative to the positions of the shocks on the arms and towers. So keep that in mind with whatever is being stated, assuming that is the case.

^Yep and you actually have a few mm to play with by how far you thread the ends onto the shock shaft.

New parts, new set-up,... all ready to rock and roll.... cept.... It is only 20 something in Dallas tonight with a single digit wind chill factor...... tooooo friggin cold to race tonight
.
So I have to be patient until Sunday afternoon. I'll report back then on how the set-up worked.

And yes, I have the same issue with the shocks. Full droop at about 105 & 120... I was going to unscrew the shock ends but figured I would leave then for now...

I have my shock ends threaded all the way in til the ball binds then back it off 1/4 turn which usually unbinds the ball. Max shock length I get this way is 105f/120r. I could back the shock ends off some more I guess.

In general, I mostly like the new setup. I do find it a little loose in the rear on-power. Still testing tho. Could be I'm oversteering. Oops...I forgot to put the three washers and steering stop screws in. Will chg that tomorrow. Right now, I have to be careful with how much power I apply out of a turn.

Has anyone had an issue getting good gear mesh with a HW 4700 and a 14 or 15t pinion. Seems I can only get it good with a 16t. Running on a small indoor track and really wanted to go down to 14 but the teeth barely touch.

Putting the new setup sheet in the truck with the new parts, what's this referring to ? It's not in the old set up sheet

This is referring to the ball studs on the spindle. You can adjust the amount of bump steer by moving washers to/from below the ball stud, or flipping the ball stud over to get the ball portion even lower.
