I use that Tacon 4pole 550 motor with the SCT Pro ESC in my SCTE (modded 1.0 version, not quite as heavy as the Tekno but heavier than the 2.0) and it works really well for me. A bit better (runs faster and cooler with the same 14 or 15 tooth pinion) than my 550 size TenShock 411 4600 kv motor.

videos good thanks handy tip, what i meant was that trying to fit 10awg wire into the U channel on the tekin esc gold posts is tricky, the u channel is too narrow where as if you stick with 12awg its much easier and slots in nicely :-)
It's not hard to solder large wires at all if you use the wire wrap method for soldering things together.
Flite-test has the perfect demo on this, but it also works with a large wire against a solid post to, just a slightly different initial approach.

Tin the wire then use a pair of smooth jaw pliers and squeeze the tinned wire into a rectangular shape. This will make it easier to fit in the slots on the solder posts. I had to do it this way with 12 gauge wire with my RX8.

Hey guys. My kit will be coming in within the next few days. Im chrious to know about any immediate upgrades to the kit you may suggest. Also, curious to know a good starting point for fluids in the diffs and shocks.

Order the CNC Delrin conical shock pistons, and spacers. They are white. It makes all the difference in the world!
Guys, I just ran my 410.3 for the first time! Rx8 Gen2 , Pro4 4600KV , I used a 17t pinion. On 2S. My goodness! Ridiculous power! My motor was barely warm? I didn't even run the ESC fan either. Normal for a pro4 to run so cool? I squeezed about 18 minutes on a 5000 MAH battery. Driving fairly easy, just trying not break it all in!
Not a single problem, accept alot of power! So much fun! I don't think I would ever need a Pro4HD...
I'm excited over this Tekin combo, inside this Tekno truck. Temps were at 100F

I do the same thing to the wires before soldering them to the motor. Makes for a really clean look.

The 17 is a blast, good for a large track, alot of speed. Definitely closer to 50mph range.
The Tekin Pro4 is a awesome motor. I was impressed. Everybody is buying the bigger HD 550 version which is fine. But seems it might be to much.
I've got a Trinity Zombie 545 motor 4 pole in 4,850KV I am excited to try. They are suppose to pull harder then the pro4 HD motors. Well see!
Good luck with the kit.

My first big solder job. Not to pretty, but it's strong when melted with flux. And it's getting a good connection.

i finally got a chance to drive this more, i find there is so much steering, and if find that i roll over a lot when i turn.
i have stock springs in the front and pink in the rear, but otherwise it is box stock with box stock setup. i am not sure where to even begin to figure out where to start. When i had the stock shocks in the back it was too soft and would not hold it up enough on acceleration.
any help with this is appreciated
