Welcome to the SCT410.3 Wiki!

7.26.17 - BB
In order to run the recommended team setup, you need the following optional parts:
TKR6106 Orange LF Springs
TKR6114 Green LF Springs
TKR6018 composite shock caps (built to emulsion) OR TKR8072 Aluminum Emulsion Shock caps
TKR8027 Shock Stand Offs
TKR6051 8x1.3 pistons(drilled to 1.4mm)
TKR8104 .4 bellcranks
TKR8100 .4 ackerman
TKR5545B HRC Hubs
You also need the Aluminum C Block (others can stay composite)

What option parts should I consider buying with a new kit?
None are required but we recommend the following:

TKR5161 V2 Adjustable Hinge Pin Brace A block, 7075 CNC, EB/NB/ET/NT/SCT) - Helps to improve durability on hard crashes.

TKR5163 V2 Adjustable Hinge Pin Brace C block, 7075 CNC, EB/NB/ET/NT/SCT) - Helps to improve durability on hard crashes.

TKR5545B HRC Rear Hubs (L/R, CV or uni, SCT.3/SL) - Improves stability of the rear on mid to corner exit. Allows harder acceleration on corner exit.

TKR6146 - CNC Delrin Shock Cartridge Set

TiNi Shock Shafts
-TKR6004T (front)
-TKR6017T (rear)

What spare parts should I keep on hand?
TKR5020 Hinge Pins (inner, front/rear)
TKR5516 Front Suspension Arms and TKR5515 Rear Suspension Arms
TKR5542 Spindle Carriers - TKR5541B Spindles
TKR6009 Shock O-Ring and Bladder Set (for 2 shocks)

Tips and Tricks

List of Vehicle Setup Adjustments and Build Tips can be found here. There are several videos and articles detailing the building of shocks, diffs, camber links, etc.

Setup Sheets:
Setup sheets for all Tekno RC vehicles can be found here. Please be sure to try our recommended setup. It works very well on most tracks.

Warranty Policy:
Tekno RC is the only company in the industry that will give 50% off of parts if returned to them using the General Warranty return policy found on their website. The parts can be lightly used or completely abused, as long as the part is still being produced it's covered!

Piston Drills:
Some of our setups recommend using pistons that are enlarged. For instance 4x1.9 or 3x2.0. To drill the pistons we recommend the following:
GMK Supply Piston Drill Set
16PC Metric Bit Set Metric Sizes 2.00 to 3.00 MM.

On the 2S vs 3S thing, it's the wattage that matters.

If your motor is using 10 amps at 8.4 volts, that's 84 watts.

To get the same 84 watts out of a 12.6 volt battery, your motor only has to pull 6.6 amps.

That's why you need less capacity (mah) from a 3S battery to get the same run time, at the same power level, as a 2S.

As long as the SCT has been around and with all the hop-up companies out there I am a little surprised that somebody has not released a $19 replacement tray with the option to slide the battery back more.

Is there a licensing issue? Really not sure how that business works, but the part would be profitable with all the 1:8 and SC drivers out there that would like the tuning option.

probably as it comes from a mold I am thinking. Maybe the expense of creating it is such that its not cost reasonable.

Could be why Tekno didn't modify the tray either it appears, as for the people who do have the issue, it isn't frequent enough to warrant doing the change.

Personally though it would have been nice to have a tray with more positions, maybe even bolt on battery stops that you secure to the tray through the chassis plate like how the battery tray now is secured. Personally I think it woudl support the battery straps better.

Maybe they didn't change it because it's not needed? I have no problem with my truck where the stock location is and I'm sure I'm not the only one. I am excited to see how differently the .3 hadles though. Maybe the stock setup will be like the setup on the ET48 and get me exactly where I need to be the first time.

"Edit"

Didn't mean to sound like a dick. Nothing wrong with more tuning options.

put it this way, it is enough of an issue for some that tekno recommends it.

I think the thing is, if you track is truly loose, then you can benefit as from what I have seen trying to solve it with traditional methods causes rear traction loss.

Who at Tekno recommends it? Seems just weird that they didn't redo the tray if it solves a big problem for some. Teknos suspension recommendations have been really off in my experience. Maybe with said recommended stiff springs the mod is needed.

I got an email a while back when I asked about the nose down issue and they recommended it basically if you couldnt add a wing.

Now when I did basically the stiffer springs and piston change on carpet,it was money.

I was ordering the parts to convert my present 410 in to a buggy and saw the 70$ off coupon. That made me finally pull the trigger on the 410.3. Unbelievable deal.
