No one wants to tackle this one? Likely most of you are just like me and have no freaking idea what Durango meant. The honeycomb mystery. Usually Durango has neat little videos explaining everything but I sure can't find this one. They spent quite a bit of time creating a 3d animation, showing how to remove two screws and insert an insert...... But no explanation on the setup sheet correlation. I'm sitting here staring at my DNX8 and a setup sheet and... Nope. More google time I guess.

Alright, I'm sitting here trying to understand something that further confuses me the more I look at it.
I'm well versed in roll center, toe, caster and camber. What I'm having an issue with is the correlation between the Team Durango setup sheets and the inserts for the shock towers and hinge pins. The little Chart that starts with a shock tower and works it's way down to the front rear hinge pin holder is not being very intuitive to my brain.
For example, the lower roll centre FR shows an insert shaped circle with no less than 25 little circles of adjustment in it. So does the FR.
The upper roll centre has 6 in both upper and lower.
How does this correlate to the actual inserts that have a center dot, a dash and a dot....so on and so on.
I'm fairly new to 1/8 scale so this type of setup is new to me. I still hate pillow ball suspension, I think it's way easier and more accurate to use turnbuckles, but that's just my personal opinion.
I need to figure this system out because my DESC10, DEX8, DNX8 and DEX8T all have it. Hell, my Redcat Hurricane XLR has it.
So,
1) how do you match what's shown on the setup sheet with the various dots and dashes on the inserts?
What's shown on the setup sheet is the position of the large dot - which is the position of the hinge pin
2) what do the dots and dashes stand for?
The large dot is the position of the hinge pin
The small dot is one row offset from centre (the offset is in the opposite direction to the position of the small dot, but in the same direction as the position as the large dot). It equates to a 0.5 deg change from centre
The dash is the same as the small dot but 2 rows. It equates to a 1 deg change from centre
3) If you move one dot to the right from center on the 25 dot FR or FF roll center adjustment, what does this mean in actual measurement?
0.5 degree change to the hinge pin angle. Don't look at them as "to the right" but to the outside or inside.
4) Basically I need to understand this system so that I know how to adjust it. Is this actually simple and its just late at night so I can't understand it?
It's super simple
Somebody school me please.

Adam Drake posted a video to YouTube talking about the front upper arm hinge pin position that may help translate the adjustments to the track. https://youtu.be/28FoYG8udLg

Thank you. I completely understand now. I had come to the point where I've got a new DNX8 kit in front of me, measuring the degrees of the front upper inserts and correlating that to the manual showing one dot in. I was getting closer but you nailed it.
So does this mean that the lower roll center was designed to have as many as 2° adjustability in 6 different directions? The 25 hole diagram really threw me off.

I decided to add a Tekin T8I 2700 on a 3s system and see what happens. It really moves out with authority. The DESC10 was really meant for a system like this. I need to get it out on the track and see what happens next. I may even race it like this!!

I have been trying to find the best motor for this car and the 2700 fits the bill. Can't wait to try it on the track.

I am in process of converting my DEX8 to a DESC10, while I still can. I also feel that with the large bumpers and full body that it'll take more abuse. That's important as parts become more scarce. This is just too good of a vehicle to not drive. I am missing a part. I don't have one part out of the front bumper set. Does anyone have a spare of these they'd be willing to part with?

Charged the batteries last night and hope to run Sat.

Fredswain if no one has a spare, I think the front bumper from the Senton is a direct replacement. It has a different part number (Senton's is AR320274 while DESC10's is 320362) but after comparing the exploded views, the part looks identical. I can't guarantee its fit but I think it's worth $11.99 on Amain.com. Good luck finding everything you need!

I have now fully converted my DEX8 to a DESC10 but it took some Arrma parts to get it done. The plastic parts are the same parts as Durango. The name is just an insert in the mold. I had to use a pair of heavier Arrma driveshafts, the Arrma shocks, and the Arrma rear tower. Hopefully I'll be able to source the proper stuff at some point.

I still need an SCT body. Do any of the Proline Flotek bodies fit?
