Default LiPo Capacity For E-Truggy

Hey all,

I'm going to run E-truggy for the first time this summer. Last year I ran E-buggy and ran 6000mah 80C lipos and after a 10 minute Main there was plenty left.

E-Truggy's are a bit heavier so what's the optimal capacity LiPo to run?

6000mah should be fine. Mate of mine runs Turnigy 5000mah and gets 10 minutes without any problems.

If your running a lower KV motor especially a 5000mah 4s is enough for 10 min racing.

I want to get one again but will they show up at club races just not big races at our tracks ? Not spending big bucks if that happens again lol.

Excellent! I was looking at running the Turnigy 5600mah this year. I suppose they'll work just fine.

I don't know for sure but, from the guy's I've been talking to, E-truggy should be bigger this year than years past. I know of 4-5 guys that have them and will be bringing them. I'm getting one to run at the big races and club races, if they show up...

Il see if they actually show up constantly at club races i know they have not before in the past years. I know there has been two of them at times having to run with Nitro truggy but ive done before it cost a lot getting a big enough 4s for them mains lol.

i am using 5000mah 80c smc with 2200kv castle motor on wide grass surface. i get 10min run. however, the punch decreases last 1 to 2 min because tracktion is high and i am sticking throttle so hard since i am not in the track. btw, i am using xray xt8.

5000-5400 are pushing it (especially on big tracks) and don't really help by saving a few oz of weight.. and you will push that pack near the bottom if you take practice laps which will take it's toll on the pack over a season. Honestly, with as much power as you have in these as long as your running a 5500-7000mah standard size pack you should be fine. I wouldn't over think weight. Try to get a your avg usage (mah/min) pushing as hard as possible and give yourself about a 20% buffer on the pack (ie more than you need).

I've been checking the pro's set up sheets and they range from 5300 - 6600mah... kinda all over the place but, they may change pack size depending on track size...

I think I'll run at least a 6000mah perhaps a 6600mah just to be safe.

Scratch that i ran 5000mah 4s for the qualifiyers but used a 5400 mah 4s for the 10 min mains. Running with Nitro i ran a 10000mah 4s i was running a 2200kv though when i had the truggy.

If its a big track to be safe a 5400mah 4s to 6000mah 4s is good to good.

So you think my original plan of running a 5600mah will be good no matter the track?

If your running in the E-Truggy class with 10 min mains it should be fine. Of course it will have more runtime if your smoother on the throttle etc , punch control.
