Sure enough i can understand that some of these were your first cars when you were a kid and these are probably the funnest kits to build and race, but why? Why re-release old cars? Why doesn't Tamiya invest in something like a new ST or buggy?

thats the reason people grew up around tamiyas old models and loved them as a kid so now they want to see them agian and experience their childhood

plus they r easy to build and great for bashing and collecting

Yep, collecting. Although the die-hard Tamiya collectors porbably don't appreciate their kits being re-released, since that'll affect their resale value. I'd like to see the Big Brute, Mountaineer and Bruiser re-release too, those were sweet trucks.

how i wish the Hotshot/Supershot, the Boomerang, the Avante & Egress will be re-released again. They seem to have bypassed that generation of cars. Maybe Avante & Egress are too expensive while the Hotshot/Supershot/Boomerang are not as well made as thundershot?

These kits sucked back when they first came out. I remember buying a black foot and a tamiya astute and they both sucked.

I wasn't impressed with the 4WD Blazing Star either...

There was way too much friction throughout the whole car and the 4WD shaft is incredibly weak. I don't know why anyone would produce a 4WD with such a narrow shaft anyway. I bolted in a Reedy 19t Quad mag and it would only dream of touching the speed of a higher quality car with a stock motor.
