From what Billy is saying it sounds like its gping to drive like 2wd mm that wont ever push or oversteer. If thats the case, this would something truely new, certainley out of the box thinking.

Wonder what the second shaft sticking out the right side, below the slipper shaft, is for? One way clicker type setup maybe?

I'm gonna guess around 400 for this car. 375 - 390 seems about average but serpent is a little bit more upscale in my opinion so even if its 30 bucks more wont bother me to much. My K1 was 419 and I love it definitely worth the extra money. I'm sure it won't be as insane as the ZX6..we'll see.

It sure does look good, will have to see, like Badger5 says, how it goes in the UK. Sure the team will get it sorted for the type of tracks we use. The only thing i dont like is the need for a low profile servo. I just have plenty of STD sized ones and will have to get a decent LP to fit my new car.
Cannot wait for it to be released. Roll on March.

Now that the code of silence has been broken I can speak about this vehicle.
I can vouch for what Billy says about durability. He's been testing in the area and has done everything or about everything he described in the video at my track and the motto here jokingly is "the walls are undefeated". Our golf cart and my mini-farm tractor can attest to this. RIP Kubota B7100. Our track is not the smoothest on this particular layout and we run slicks 99% of the time. When you have some bumps and slicks things can go haywire fast.
You can say Billy is going to make it look good on the track but you can also say he's going to make just about anything look good on the track. However this car looks like butter around the corners. It just looks and runs smoother where everyone else's steering is a bit more choppy. He's matched anyone else's (national team kind) time, if not bettered it, with the stock kit just working on kit setups. Nothing super focused on our layout. No hop up items or special parts like the other guys are running as far as I have seen, discussed with Billy or otherwise heard from others at other tracks he's been testing at.
If I were looking to race 4wd, this IS the first car I would consider.
Full disclosure: My shop is a Serpent dealer, as well as a dealer for basically everyone. If its not on the shelf, it's on a storage rack inside the main building. If it's not there, it's in a box waiting for somebody looking for that old part. If it's not in the box, we can order it. If we can't order it then you're probably scraping ebay for a special one off Gene Husting part from 1972.

TBH I still think this is one of the oddest looking chassis' I have seen in approx. 25 years in the hobby. However, I refuse to say it won't work, to me this is probably the most intriguing piece of kit in the last decade. SRX-4, I'll keep an eye on you!

Aside from using a mid-belt to connect the spur to the rear primary, it's actually pretty similar to older cars like the Lazer ZX and the Schumacher Cat in layout. Those just had elevated spur/lay shafts where this design bring it all down lower/longer. Even the Yokomo YZ-10 shared the saddle, rear/mid motor layout, though it's motor was way off center because of the simpler 2-belt system.
