tamiya nissan king cab

Hey guys I've got a 1989 tamiya Nissan king cab, its my dads old one so I don't know much about it. It seems to go faster in reverse and I have no idea what could be causing this.

this was my first racing truck.....does it have the manual wiper style speed control, or an esc???
