Default Med-high bite clay

For those that need a starting point for med-high bite clay, here is a set-up sheet for my car. It should be a good start. Please fell free to let me know if you make any changes that will make it better so I can try it myself.

You won't fit smaller then a 34 cause you can't move motor over far enough.

You could use a 72 tooth though
Hi,

I have just fitted a 69/35 combo, just like yours. Do you get good top speed? What diff oil are you using?

It just seems to me that my 2wd (its a durango dex210) buggy (69/34 combo) has more punch and top speed than my YZ4.

This may be a very noob/stupid question but should I expect my yz4 to have less punch and top speed than my 2wd buggy? maybe because my 2wd is lighter than my 4wd? I have both running a 17.5 with the same end-bell and esc setup.

Thanks

The YZ-4 does weigh more than your YZ-2 but what's having a greater impact here is the fact that your YZ-2 has the motor, spur gear, and 4 gears in the transmission transferring power to the outdrives.

In the YZ-4 you've got two transmissions and two belts increasing the rotating mass and drag in the drive system. Things may free up a bit as you run the car. Some people swear by shaft driven cars for 17.5 and 13.5 cars because you've got fewer places to accumulate drag.

Sounds like a few people are running the YZ-4 in 17.5 successfully. There's definitely enough motor in modified to overcome any issues with drivetrain drag.

will we need to use spacers #z4-300rfs and #z4-300rrs when using the above suspension brackets?

thanks for any info
I am planning on changing my setup to run on a low bite dirt track. I have 2 bags of the YOKZ2-300RS spacers . I also picked up the YOKZ4-300SRR and YOKZ2-300RF mounts and the bushings . I am trying to figure out how to copy shins low traction clay setup sheet as he has listed 2 black spacers above the mount and 1 black and 1 brown below the YOKZ4-300SRR mount . Wondering if it can be done with the $3 spacers instead of the $30 Z4-300RFS and Z4-300RRS spacers ?

Default YZ2/YZ4 Rear shock tower Mod'

Hi Yok Drivers,

For YZ2/4 owners, I have design a New part : "Shock Tower Spacer" ( for both YZ4 and YZ2 ) - Printed part.
You can install the rear shock tower on the back of the car, behind the shocks.( Screws length needed : 42mm & 26mm )
That make the cars more easy to drive and give more traction.

Another 3D part for your YZ4, to get your Shorty on the length and centered.
Great to get a good balance Left & Right with the shorty on the length.
(Screws length needed : 6mm )

Why would you centre the battery? Are you having issues? I thought the battery is offset to compensate for the motor and servo. With the battery off set you get a perfect L/R balance.
