No problem my friend. Novak has a FDR chart relevant suggested FDR per different motor sizes and thus the various vehicle applications (2wd buggy, 4wd buggy, 2wd SCT etc.) Again motors vary however their chart will puts you in the right area. If anything their FDR suggestings are a tad higher than others in being .5 higher. Thus if they recommend an FDR of let's say 8 you may want to shoot for 7.5 especially if your motor is not a Novak.

Oh they also have the FDR formula. spur divided by pinion take that and multiply by vehicles internal gear ratio.

I'm gonna have to figure this out. Do you know the internal ratio of the Yz-4? And as far as motor I'm running the reedy m3 short stack.

Suggested FDR for 13.5 in 10th scale 4wd buggy is 7.0. Thus your right in the park. Possible go up a tooth on your pinion and bring your FDR down to 7 or a tad below.

You seem to have the FDR figured out my friend.

Thanks to the gent confirming the IGRatio for the YZ4

Chicago nice! Have you been to RaceEm in Rockford? Big race there the 28th thru 30th.

I would run saddles or brick. I am running VRP 1.6 up front 32.5 and 1.3 rear 30 which I may change. Don't run to much anti squat. 7k front 3k rear diffs, with the narrow rear belt set. I went heavier in the front shock set up to take some of the aggressivness out of the steering. Also added more caster/kick up with the front hanger inserts going -2.5

Do you have the clicker locked down or are you setting it back some.

I would go down on your diff oils being you are on dirt. Thus as well run heavier in the front diff and lighter in the rear which should help out. Try 7kf 3kr or 7k 5k and I have heard people running 5kf 3kr. Have you tried your clicker both locked down as well as dialed back?
Running Saddle packs or bricks sets the back end down. Yes it's added weight but that helps as well as the added weight covering more of the chassis rear surface area. Try a little more kick up with your inserts being set to add more neg caster. 2.5. You could try more droop in all your shocks. I have the thinnest limiters inside( more so for a little added protection on the bottom side of the shock piston) thus they are so thin they really aren't limiting my droop. More droop in the front will tend to shift weight towards the backend when you apply power.

You may want to drop your shock oils down a tad being -2.5. I believe AE is a little lighter than other brands.

Also the car needs to a good amount of packs run through it to breaking the diffs and belts.

If you have any drag break set on your ESC dial it way back or even totally off.

I hope this helps and I am sure some of the other YZ4 owners will share their advice.
