The YZ-2 is really bad for dealers. The car has everything you need (maybe 1.6+1.7 machined pistons is all you really need to add) and nothing ever breaks. Yes, the YZ-4 looks expensive, but if you look back to the B-Max4 and even back to the MR4 BX, prices didn't really change at all.

I think, out of the box, the YZ-4 is actually a great kit. Yes, it doesn't have all the bling, but knowing Yokomo they design and release a kit that is really bang for the buck. I will be building my personal YZ-4 coming Sunday. Box is waiting for me.

And for those who don't like thin bodies, a heavy duty body is included in the kit. Yay!
Well said, they have done a good job with this buggy, hey the shock tower may not be carbon but it will take a hell of a lot to brake the ones in the kit and the belts are overkill in my opinion but they should last that's for sure.
My son's YZ4 took some big hits at the worlds and we did not have anything brake.

We should be on track this Saturday on a hard packed dirt track, most of the time is high grip but we have had a lot of rain so may not be that high grip, lol, and maybe on a indoor clay track with slicks on Sunday

Regards
Gary

WOW forget every thing you have read, forget every thing you thought you new about this buggy and let me tell you i have built 100's of cars over the years and i have never seen the kind of engineering and development that has gone into this buggy, i can honestly say i am blown away, firstly forget what you thought about the plastic hangers yes they are plastic but let me tell you the plastic is a quality like i have never seen, this car is a cross between a 2wd and a 4wd the diffs pulley system and belts are truly on another level, the fact that the front diff works on a clicker system is unbelievable depending on the traction i can set it up as full time 4wd or loosen a nut and turn it into a part time 2WD. Value you for money is at the very least awesome and if i hadn't of ordered the aluminium parts after building the kit i probably wouldn't have. Any way here is a few build pictures. If your considering this buggy do your self a favour and don't think twice.

Exactly! Anodized aluminum delta variances vary quite a bit. Thus the delta variances are visible to the human eye. Not to forget that black composite is going to be much darker than a lot of anodized aluminum done in black. Anodized aluminum is much more translucent.

Best,

HSV thanks for the pics and what you are saying about the Kit quality and plastic/composites being excellent, is the same info I have was told by a YOK factory team driver.

That may have been my unboxing, maybe not, but I can vouch the chassis is not black. It is fairly dark though.

HSV427 - did you use the 10K diff fluid front and rear? I have a feeling the front needs to go harder or the rear softer. The only setup google could find was from the worlds and it was 20K front/10K rear.

I'm running 10k f/r and i think they feel awesome, alot of 4wd's these days run the same front and rear like X-ray and i find that usually works well for my track, l always build my kits to the book setup which i find usually a great starting point then ill put it on the track and tune from there, l haven't had a chance to run and tune the car yet, but I'm really looking forward to this weekend.

Chassis would be the same with the anodizing finish being different. Wether the chassis has a black anodized finish or dark gray the temper on both chassis's is the same. A black anodized finish will most likely have a slightly deeper anodonic finish but that does not increase the tensile strength of the chassis. Thus no one should worry if their chassis is not finished in the black ano finish as the tensile strength on both will be the same.

Dang! You're car is decked out. What do you think of the narrow alu pulleys/belt? Sure looks good.
