Guys, I have a question that may sound stupid, but since I have mostly have raced onroad and offroad is still new to me, I'll ask it still.

What makes a ball diff better on dirt? Especially on this car, where we try to get as much weight in the back as possible. I mean, I can make a gear diff run very smooth with very little backlash, and a gear diff weights quite a bit more than a ball diff. That would help to put more weight in the rear, wouldn't it? Running 17.5, with limited power, I would understand the less rotation mass part, but with mod motors, I feel that the heavier diff would also help by mellowing the throttle response.

i like how the body flows into the gear cover, i would be nice if someone could make a lexan cover that we could paint to match the car.

if my losi project doesnt work out im looking at a yz2. going to buy the carpet edition and get the dirt edition parts so i have both.

Does the bmax2 gear diff fit in the yz2?
Also, what springs, other than the included in the yz2 dirt edition kit, are a must have?

Thank you very much!!!

I don't see any flow into the body in any capacity.

The B-max ball diff is a direct fit. I have a B-Fast Ball diff kit and its labeled for the B-max.

The gear cover pictured looks to be 3D printed. If so... Oh hells naw! This is a pretty pricy kit to run a printed piece. Personally, I don't see enough of a difference to warrant considering "upgrading".

can anyone with a yz2 measure out the distance in mm between the two wing mount holes on the rear shock tower (i circled them in the image). i'm working on a carbon shock tower for another car project and i want to use yz2 wing mounts.

while sls printing technology is impressive i have to agree that for a full production piece it should be injection molded

Typically Yokomo to make weird product pictures. You can expect molded parts instead of 3D printed

after seeing closeup photos at amain.com, the quality of the plastic seems low quality and i noticed it had a low profile servo with the receiver place on its side to make it fit. very cramped for electronics. Appears they kept the same layout as the carpet edition and didnt bother to move the battery post when they moved the motor.
Decided to cancel my backorder and ordered an xray xb2.

Nice to judge by pictures . Yokomo does this for years, nothing new. Yokomo plastics are one of the best, very high quality. Have fun with your XB2.

Anyone knows when the manual for the dirt edition will be available ? Any chances it will be before the release of the kit ?

Thanks

didnt realize the photos are preproduction. Car gets realesed to public in a month, one would think that they would have a final production model to show to the public.
will the battery post be in the same position as the carpet and leave little space for electronics or will it get moved?

Any suggestions on servo type: normal or low profile?

The chassis side rails, into which the battery hold down posts go, appear to be the same as on the current car and are not listed as a change.
