Welcome to Team Yokomo....great cars for sure.

Here is a list if what you will need to make the swap (others can chime in if I missed something:

* Dirt motor plate
* Dirt gear cover
* Rear waterfall, bulkhead, camber brace and tower (https://www.amainhobbies.com/yokomo-yz2-dirt-rear-bulkhead-shock-tower-motor-brace-yokz2-018rd/p493840)
* idler gear (I believe you need the orginal yz2 one, not the CA one as it is bigger than. Original)
* trans case
* Dirt battery brace
* Dirt wing mounts

I believe the rear arms may be different between DT and CA versions but I don't think that is critical to the swap.

You may also need a few different screws but you can play with that as needed and hopefully you have some various spare screws to fill in if needed.

Let us know how it goes if you make the swap.

TJ9017 - Check your PMs. I got what you need to convert your CA to a DT. In addition to the above list, I have the correct dog bones and rear arms as well.

Is there a way to put a rear graphite shock tower on the DTYZ2? Thus keeping the stand up 3 gear as well. Wondering if this is possible and if so what it requires.

Thanks

As of right now, I'd say the answer is likely no based on the mold design of the DT plastic parts being one piece.

If you had access to the carbon fiber spacer and shock tower from the factory rc y-maxx conversion it may be possible but not sure if those holes would line up to the DT transmission case, but the wing mounts on the b-max 2 are similar to the DT. Even then you'd have some issues with the spacing below the camber mount unless you tried a CA camber mount.

Keep an eye out for something in the future though as maifield has a few new parts of some sort on the back of his ride at the Reedy race but he is running the CA trans case with the DT camber mount it appears so he's got some sort of spacer below the camber mount for support.

Sorry for not a better, cleaner, answer.

If you are putting the laydown on your DT, let me know if you need a parts list to do this. I just did this to my DT.

How do you like it? Pretty much looks like Reedy Mayfeilds set up excepts for the composite part behind the shocktower.

Thank you the list would be great.

If you could mount the yz4 rear trans case to the DT then it would be possible. The only issue stopping it right now is the DT shock tower only has 2 mounting holes to the trans case. Being a solid unit with the rear bulkhead it only needs the 2 upper and the 2 lower holes on the rr arm mount. Vs the cf unit having 4 mtg holes

You could add the yz4/ca rear buklhead to the DT but to add the tower you would have to drill new mtg holes in the CF tower. Also a spacer like on the yz4 between the tower and trans would be needed.

I've actually never raced the DT. I only got it because it was $230 new. I'll use the DT trans if I race outdoors. As for the laydown trans parts list:

Yokomo Wing/Body Mount Set [YOKZ2-001W]
Yokomo Graphite Rear Shock Tower [YOKZ2-018]
Yokomo Bulkhead Mount Set [YOKZ2-018M]
Yokomo YZ-2 3-Gear "Carpet" Transmission Case Set [YOKZ2-302C3]
Yokomo YZ2 Battery Plate [YOKZ2-118P]
M3x10 Button Head Screws to hold rear shock tower to bulkhead. Qty:4
M3x20 Button Head Screws to attach trans to suspension blocks. Qty:2 (DT uses M3x22. I used those but shimmed them up 1mm to avoid possibility of going too deep into the suspension block and onto chassis.

You may or may not need the following:

Yokomo Gear Box Rubber Sheet [YOKZ2-302R] (You need the rectangular piece to mount upper arm mount to trans.)
Yokomo 52mm Turnbuckle (2) [YOKSD-TB52] (You may or may not need them to run long links/kit setup for CA rear.)

Other than that, just use the screws from the DT to finish off the swap.

Well it arrived today awesome looking car yz2 original, I just want to push the suspension up and down and roll it on the work bench, yeah you know, after examining the rear weight addition of the incubus how about running the two steel rear hangers to pull the weight bias back, I have a rear front that came with the car, yes med grip dirt, I have been admiring these cars for a while, I might just got push it along the lounge floor.
