YZ-4s arms, as said above, were a bit questionable at the begining but fine now.
YZ-2 just incredible. Raced it now for 6 months and not broken a thing. Also, as mentioned above, the finish of the xray stuff looks lacklustre by comparison but the strength is still admirable.

Parts costs are what keeps me away from X-Ray. Had an XB-4. Needed to rebuild it, and there is where the sticker shock came in. $7.00 for a single arm. No thanks, bonehead up a diff? $70.00. Um not. Drive shafts? everything is twice the price of all other cars out there. They do last longer, but unless you plan on running a car with clapped out arms, diffs, and drive shafts, the Yokomo is quite a bit less expensive to maintain.

I noticed that the Yokomo YZ-2 comes with 1, 2, and 3 numbered shock pistons. I saw some setup sheets from Lee Martin for a clay track that used 1.6 and 1.7 shock pistons. Which brand of 1.6 and 1.7 pistons are recommended? Thanks!

Thanks! Are the tapered or regular pistons recommended for clay?

How are you DT guys liking your cars? I sold my B5M Lite right before the B6 annoucement and am looking for a replacement. I'm having a hard time finding much info other than press stuff on the car. Is there much difference that you buys can see between the DT and the B6D?

I got mine, and after one change from box setup its awesome, carries corner speeds very well, fit and finish is amongst the best, and it's tough. To me the B6D copied most if not all of what Yokomo is doing. Parts are starting to make their way into amain, as well as the option parts. It drives 100 times better then my B5M ever did, and didn't require tones of hop-up parts out of the box to work. Since the B6D is not out, there is no way to directly compare the two, but I would guess they will drive very similar due to the (biting tongue here) "similarities" between the two platforms.

If the B6 uses the same material in the front end as the B5M. Theres gonna be a grip of slop if you run high bite carpet, etc. Where the Yokomo stays tight..

+1. 2 month old YZ-2 DT feels as tight as the day I bought it.

My YZ-2 is now 8 months old and is still precision tight.

Now, my 410v3 which is now my son's car is still as precision tight as the day I built it… 4 years ago! THAT is ridiculous.
Often kick myself in the hind quarters for switching but I'm debating trying a YZ-4 before going back to a 410, but not sure how well it's suited for outdoor off-road.

Is there anything besides arms that I should keep in my spares box?
