I think world's should be ran on a different surface every time they have worlds. Then it would show who's the best on each surface not just who,s the best on dirt. Or at least a multi surface track to really test the skill.

Off road world championship on astro turf? That is sacrilegious. Period.

The previous worlds, on "dirt", was sacrilegious.

Going astro is better for the average racer than going sugared dirt. It's a hell of a lot easier on tires. You want to see RC die a quick death, go sugar...

Default Astro Death

Astro is not Off Road, period. If they run the world final on astro this will be another joke worlds like Pretoria was, the US will not respect. For all you Euro guys that wanna chime in, save it, I'm giving it to you straight. We started Offroad R/C Racing and we call it like it is. Late.

Bring back the 80's I say!!! Dont like the current surfaces much. Astro is just worst... its like watching motocross on astro. No sliding, no roost, everythg comes back looking like it did at the start line..

This thread is about the upcoming Worlds. Average racers don't run at the Worlds. So what's your point?

Some do, some don't. I haven't seen a huge number of tracks going to sugar just because a couple big races ran on it.

Again this thread is about Astro vs. Dirt right? Not Astro vs. Sugared Dirt...unless it's been stated that the dirt will be sugared..??

A large portion of the world races on carpet/astro. Why shouldn't those drivers and manufacturers get a chance to run on the surface they're used to as well?

For our local tracks I would not mind astro. We run sugar in summer (so all move to mid motor) and wet clay in winter (rm dominates). With astro it would be the same all year round, saves money for the avg joe racer.

AGreed not as fun as real dirt but we need more racers in the sport anyways. Tires/drivetrain would last longer in a cleaner environment as well.

Most places that have run astro for more than tyhe past couple of years do so because their climates are too difficult for consistent dirt (rain, etc.). It's a substitute.

Off-road world's should be on dirt. EOS more than covers the carpet/astro set.
