Default Advice for 4x4 van

Hello everyone,

I'm new here and to RC. I would like some advice on creating a off road 4x4 van. I seen the lunch box, however, I'm not liking the whole monster truck tires and look. I do like the body on the other hand. Could there be away to put it on a different off road chassis? Or if you have any ideas that can help me start my build I will appreciate it and will post pictures.

I am not sure that a body is out there that fits the bill for you. But if you do not want a monster truck look you may need to start with a short course truck and give it your own creative touch. Also, I think the lunchbox was a 2wd vehicle, just had huge tires on it.

Back in the day, Kyosho made a TC sized Chevy van body. The downside is it may be impossible to find.

Carve on some foam to get your shape and layer it up with a very light fiberglass and resin. Or go to Toys R Us and look for something that would work.

You guys need to READ. He's not looking for a body. He said he LIKES the Lunchbox body, just not the monster truck look with the big tires. He's asking if it can be put on a different chassis that's NOT a monster truck. Which the answer is yes it can, with a little work. I'm not sure what you would put it on but I'm sure there's a vehicle out there with a width and wheelbase that would work.

Google has all the answers. Apparently the Lunch Box has a 210mm wheelbase, and apparently so do the following chassis:
HPI Cup Racer
HPI Switch
Tamiya TA05
And probably many more.

He said off-road 4x4, Jim, none of those fit the bill.

Traxxas Slash 1/16 has a 206mm wheelbase and is 185mm wide. The Lunchbox body would be the perfect length and the tires would stick out just a little on each side. It's not the most capable offroad vehicle, but it will work just fine in the dirt and some short grass.
