Default My new Truggy and questions.

Hello!
I want to do my own Truggy and I have questions. It'll be 1:8.
Which chassis should I choose? Mugen? Losi? Or Associated? Maybe something other? It can be second-hand. It should be <350$.
Which ESC, which is waterpoof? I found Xerun 150A, but it's not waterpoof. It should be <110$
Motor? A lot of people say that Leopard 4274 2000kV is good choise. Really? It should be <100$
And Servo... Is there any point to pay >50$ for servo?
And radio... I have no idea what should I buy and how much money should I spend there.

You won't be finding any new truggy Kits for 350$, and if it's your first truck, I would really recommend a kit.

Most of the new gen kits are great. I would stay away from the associated. While good, it is years behind many of the other kits.

Ok. Will be the Tekno ET48 good? I'll get second-hand. Or maybe MBX7Te?

Those would be my two choices. Both are great cars, and proven to be both durable, and drive well.

What is your purpose with buying a truggy? Bashing or racing? You said water proof ESC so I assume bashing. Even with bashing, running through water/mud is a bad idea.

For bashing personally I would recommend a monster truck, not a truggy. Higher ground clearance, etc for bashing.

For racing, a $350 limit on the chassis means you will need to look for a used chassis. Should be able to pick up a current chassis in the $250 range that is in good condition. There is one race worthy outlier that is less than $350 new. The Team-C HTCT8TE-V2 truggy. Currently backorder but can still be ordered from HRP for $320:

Hmm... I thought about MT, but no because of look of it. Furthemore, I like do small 'speed runs'. I used Firestorm 10T (brushed), and I loved it.
Sooo... Is there any point to buy ET48 for me?
There, in my contry, parts of Tekno aren't available. But Mugen's are.
What about that Mugen? How much would cost second-hand roller? 300$?
Does anyone know the lenght of MBX7Te...? On site is only lenght of body!

The tekno is certainly more durable than the Mugen. Since there are no parts for it though... Go with the Mugen. Price really depends on condition.

If it's that durable.... Maybe buy that Tekno...? If I'd find 350$ roller...

I bought a used XT8 and built my own parts to convert it to brushless. I bash it on 6s and have a lot of fun ! xray has such strong plastics! I only broke some transmission parts because it has to be well shimmed...

so why not a used xray ?

If I'd find Xray XT8e... It would be ok. And there are parts of it in my country.

They all are awesome for me..
Now I would choose Tekno but tommorow maybe no...

What would you do ?

Since Mugen is supported, I would go with them.

Hobby wing make good products, and are quite popular. I would go with a tekin combo if you can. It's hard to argue about how good they are.

if u want to bash and u have limited amount of money then take a look at proline mt. it seems durable, comes with pre mounted tires. Witn sidewinder sv3 combo you are good to go. Chasis 380usd
Electronics 110 usd
Servo+ battery (2s)+ radio is up to you.
if u buy this from tower, then u got %20 percent discount.

U re good to go with all new equipments around 500 usd range.

I think I will try to complete ET48. Maybe in summer I will post my flying video .
I thought about that and I decided that if I buy that expensive model, I'll spend some more and have one of the most durable model...

Soooooo...
ESC: Xerun 150A 100$
Motor: Leopard 4274 2000kV (?) 70$
Tires, wheels: AKA 1:8 Truggy 50$
Servo: really dont know. 60$?
Radio: really dont know. 50$?

Why I decided to that? I want to do something which is no school and no computer .
