thinking bout getting a mbx7r eco as a basher
I like the fact that ball bearings are overall 16x8mm

With the dot on the rear insert down it works like this:
Anti Squat, front insert dot:
Up - 4*
Middle - 3*
Down - 2*
Toe, rear insert dot down and:
Inside - 2.5*
Middle - 2.75*
Outside - 3*

In my experience, the wider rear hexes really free the car up. Even 1/2 a mm makes a difference, the avid carbon pieces are work really well to try small adjustments.
If you are a on a low traction surface, stick with the stock hexes. The only time I could see using the wider hexes are high traction (and you need more rotation) or you need some extra stability on a really rough track.
The wider hexes do aid on power steering as well, but it might not be the best adjustment to get that, depending on the traction levels.

It is all track dependent on whether you need them or not. I know "in my experience with several cars" extending the rear dramatically increased bump handling on power. It increases rear traction rotating around corners so it may slow you down or help you consistency. In the front I find a decrease in steering extending out and the car has slower reactions and reduced steering. Easier to drive with less steering in other words. It's a good tuning option to have. Just remember to consider droop setting as you move your wheels further out. You may find a nice balance with more offset hexes and less droop.
