Another question on 4S battery packs. Did I read somewhere in this thread that the 5000 mah SMC packs push the stock body up?
Looks like an UpgradeRC wrap to me

the body/battery thing - im very unhappy with fitment. my stock eco body barely fits with 6500 smc pack, and only with the wires facing the rear. the used (i think proline predator) body that came with my eco sits about half an inch high on the battery side when using bigger 4s packs.
the rest of the buggy - i love it!
On my MBX6 I ran the heavier steel pillow balls on the bottom only and it made a noticeable difference but never felt the need on my 7 or 7R.

As far as the battery and body, a little trick I picked up, put a small spacer and longer screw under the front body mount to gain another few mm clearance for the battery.

Question for you Mugen experts. I'm thinking about getting this buggy. I feel good about it after all the videos I've watched and things I've read. How often does Mugen make new models. I see this one cam out 12/14. Think there is going to be a new one this year?

Thank you!

With running the rear under drive do you need to go up in weight with the diff fluid?

It didn't work for me. I think if you change both front and rear the change in gear ratio might be useful. Not for me though. If it works for you post about what you liked and how it worked better with setup info.

Got a new offroad track starting up in my area & they're going to run a "superlight" class - 1/8E buggies with 2s batteries & 550 motors (it's a small track!!!).
Any recommendations on kv for the motor and gearing??

Nope just run the 42/12 rear.. 4k in the rear.... We also dont run anything over 7k in the center.. First add more toe to the rear before you buy those gears.. Stock is 2.75 rear toe with dot in the middle of the pill insert.. Install the insert with the dot towards the "outside" of the car.. If you need more traction, ad 5k rear.. Cheap fixes

mbx8 : I will be very interested to see what they improve ! probably a bit more suspension travel, a even more narrow setup, a bit more weight forward and let's hope : STRONGER front arms !

by the way, I let a message to mugen japan about my videos : they didn't reply. it's ok, their customers are racers, not bashers like me. Adam drake did reply to me on youtube, that is much appreciated ! they pick up the right guy to promote mugen !

Default Mbx7r black springs

Hey what is with the black springs I see everyone using??? Is it 10.25 rear and 9.75 front. And what piston and oils do people use in Australia.

Thanks
