OK, so I'm mainly an onroad guy, but I ask you this:
do you want an RTR, or a kit
and do you want to race, race every once in a while, or no racing appears in your future.
Frankly, as long as you know what your doing, you could go with any of them.
The Losi XXXNT is also an option, but this option depends on you Local Hobby Shop, b/c a decision on which truck you want depends a lot on the local support, and parts availability.

I have the RC10GT. It is a great truck. You can't go wrong with it. I am an associated fan so i would get anything associated over losi, but that is just my opinion. If you get it with the
OS CV-X ( which is an option ) that would be great to start with, but later you will deffinatly want to upgrade to a more powerful engine.
There are many other cheaper models that you can get from traxxas or duratrax but only get those if you wont be racing.
The three really raceble nitro trucks are the RC10GT, XXXNT,
MST-1, and Kysho Ultima. the MST-1 is new, but the most popular ones are definatly RC10GT and XXXNT. I don't like to admit it, but the Losi XXXNT wins a lot more races than the GT.
Like Im2lazy said, it depends on what ur hobby shop supports more.
Good luck

if you are just starting out go with the xxx buggies from losi they are electric but it will be cheaper and it will teach you driving skill then when you get really comfterable go with a nitro you don't want to learn on a nitro they are extremely sophisticated and fast. just my 2.00 cents
