It does look interesting, definitely not what I was expecting from a "tower hobbies" vehicle. Anyone know if this is something "else" that was branded by tower hobbies?

I'm not sure what the truck is rebranded off of it may be Tower hobbies brand .

thats pretty cool if it is.

I know duratrax at one point seemed to be trying to hit the "race" market with there first 1/8 electric that a guy locally had here and it actually performed well when you added a few things, but then they kind of got away from it.

Who knows, maybe this is the beginning for tower to end the ring lol.

Some more pics/info here: http://rcdriver.com/tower-hobbies-cutback/

Had they came out with it three years ago at the "peak" of the short-course craze when every track had a 4wd SC class, it could have been a really interesting project.

Great Planes owns Durango...I can only imagine that there has to be some sort of influence there.

The angled out put shafts on the diffs, front top brace, and steering link set up all scream Durango.

If they would just release a kit version ... I will be first in line!

The more I look at it...I have to agree, and the body mounts are similar looking.

posted some new info. basically link to the manuals and the bashproof guarentee which is 1 year on plastic parts, 2 years if you are a tower member.

Prices on spares doesn't seem too bad and a variety are in stock now along with the vehicle.

I've been eyeing this new truck as something I could use to drag my dad and older brother into the hobby. It looks like it'd be pretty solid for a beginner and parts seem to be pretty inexpensive.

Anybody else see what looks like body posts attached to the front and rear diffs?

(I'd link to the pictures that are on RCDriver, but I'm not allowed to post links yet...)

I wonder if they're planning a 1/8 buggy for this chassis...it looks like there would be plenty of room for an appropriately sized motor.

I am taking the plunge and bought one. Will be here next week. My other rigs are 2 Blitz ESE's, a Tekno 410SCT and an EXO (plus other smaller stuff). We have a sand lot track that is a little rough, and while the SCT410 crushes and is pretty bullet proof, it's sort of an expensive truck to thrash like I have been. The Blitz's are cool but everyone has 4wd's now so they only see action at the track. Anyhow, longtime lurker here, but joined now.

I'll post some opinions and such next week when it arrives. Maybe we'll have answers for wheel offset by then, but I'll check it out as I have some SCTE and Slash offsets for the various rigs. I am planning on hitting the track in 2 weeks... maybe I'll bring it. Thanks for all of the good info and quality speculation. I hope it's a $300 kit that feels like a deal if it were $400!
