Default 1/8 e buggy servo Question

What's the minimum require torque on a e buggy 1/8 ??? I was looking at a servo with 486 torque and .13 speed or 319 at .10 speed ???? If not I have one at 244 at .06 speed all at 7.4 volts ???????

I've run several around 300 oz in with no problems, even on high bite and with sideways on power 1 wheel landings. Anything close to that is more than enough.

It's a bit of a trade off really ... high speed, lower torque may translate to lower turn speed as the rated numbers I would assume are for no-load. I would go for a higher torque servo and tighten down the servo saver. I went from 1258TG to a 2270SG and really notice the difference!

I'm debating on the 310 oz at .10 speed VS 488 at .15 speed ??? Im trying to balance on torque and speed not sure what other inputs il, get here

What about the 486oz/in @0.13s ... those look like good numbers

Speed is good, but it seems all of the specs you listed are plenty fast already. Even the .13 sec 488oz tq. servo would be alright on speed and the torque it has is immense for that scale.

Personally I'd get the .10sec 319oz tq. Only get the 7.4v .06 sec servo if you have the proper ESC and RX to power it. Otherwise you are stuck with whatever it can give you at 6v.

Yes of course orion r10 only do 6.0v and the TEKIN RSX has the 7.4 option which is best for all my hitec servos and the new r8.1 has the 7.4 bec right ?

I have 3 hitec with 222 oz at .06 but in my 1/10 cars and I was looking at the bigger torque for a 1/8 buggy project I got going wasn't looking to buy a ne servo but good thing I saved tra money

I only know that the Tekin RX8 Gen2 goes up to 7.4v. I'm not sure about the R8.1

Since you're talking 8th scale from the original post, I feel it wise to point out that only the 8.1 from the ESCs you list will work in this scale. I personally run an rx8 and love it, and several also run the hobbywing sct pro (fine in eBuggy as long as you stick to the legal 4s voltages).

I guess it depends on the weight of the buggy too. If your runnin one of them there newfangled super lights you could get away w less tourque . depends on your budget and what you want I guess

Yes of course no 1/10 esc on a 1/8 buggy that would be brainless

I was going to use one that I have in a 1/10 buggy at 180 torque at .07 speed but with all the info provided I think it's better just to buy one with more torque since I'm new to 1/8 I been doing 1/10 and I know speed is more common on 1/10 cars just Needed a idea where to start with a servo for the buggy .....
