Default R/C Dissasembly tool

Below is my 3D rendered design of a dissasembly stand for holding fasteners and components while cleaning your R/C kits.

I also want to make the stand sides fold up so it would be flat for storage when not in use.

What do you guys think about this. Is it useful or overkill?

It would be nice for the shocks and the fasteners, but the rest seems kind of pointless..... in my opinion.

Instead of the fastener security I'd just make it magnetic. Whenever I pull a section of my car apart i lay the screws on a mat or towel in a shape that resembles how they go with the chassis to keep them in order. Make sense? If it was magnetic you could do the same or just keeps it simpler.

I think your on the right track, just gotta keep it simple though. I think of a car as 5 major components, front end, rear end, chassis, shocks and transmission. A tray or spot for each...boom

I like the idea behind it, but the motor/servo/esc placement is a little overkill. What would make it a little better is if instead of holes for the screws, just have a magnetic plate for the screws to stick on. (just a thought)

Magnetic was my preferred method instead of having to thread it through by hand or drill, say have a magnetic layer below the plate. This would be implemented on kit specific stands as all the bolts aren't the same length so the top face of the stand would have to be raised in certain fasteners to keep the layer below even. Also the top of this stand would be lableled for certain fasteners.

Here is a top view of how the stand would be labeled:

Thanks for the input guys I appreciate it.

Magnets won't work for Ti fasteners. I like it overall.

Great concept.
I think a simpler version would do for maybe shocks and screws/pins.

Yes this is one of the reasons why I just wanted to go with threading them in for now. I used some Ti fasteners on my kit as well.

A simpler version seems to be the consensus here.

Sidenote:

If you guys have time check out my R/C Youtube page for some videos, I will be reviewing the Duratax 835e soon and have running videos as well.

This was the disasembly stand for my Ko Radio - now this is overkill
