How many own more than one of the same rc car?

I've never had an extra car for the purpose of spare parts. but I do have 2- 22 3.0's I bring a spare to the track if someone new shows up and wants to drive. And several years ago I used to restore gold pan RC10's and at one point I had 26 of them.

We have two racers and three laydown B6D's. All setup very close to the same. This way we have a test mule and can make changes to one and test back to back testing. Plus, if we break a part, and the hobby shop is out of stock, we can keep racing.

I guess I also have 3 xray T4 14's I race them in different classes, so they are all setup in their own way.

I have two of everything in my signature, one for indoor hard packed clay and a duplicate for outdoor racing. Last years indoor car becomes that years outdoor car and I buy fresh kits for the start of each indoor season.
When you get to know your cars and driving style you'll know what will fail most often and keep what you need on hand to repair it.

I have everything on my signature. You only need one of each class to race with.
The only classes I don't mess with is Pro Mod which is a short course truck with a bunch of expensive carbon fiber on it with an open wheel body, those bodies alone are $90.
That class is just too expensive for me, people just smash into you anyway so its not racing. Sprint Cars I can afford, as well as the latemodel class,
stock slash which is the only stock class I race, Bomber and regular mod corr are affordable. Bomber is like stock slash its not an expensive class to race in.
The last expensive class ill never race in is 1/8th scale latemodel. Those are even or close to be as expensive as Pro Mod. I know people tying up $2000 into one 8th scale latemodel.

I have to Slash 4x4's and two Losi xxx-sct's, and tons of extra parts. Funny how much "extra" stuff you acquire in a short time.

LOL I have 6 TKI4's none are "for parts" but if something breaks I have a spare car to throw down on the track. I know during a race you can't do that but if I didn't happen to have what I broke I could definitely rob peter to pay paul and get back on the track. For me it is more of a piece of mind rather than anything else. When I first started out I always worried about breaking something, and usually did, but when I bought my first Kyosho I was always breaking arms and I would usually only have one maybe 2 spare sets with me. Well one day a local hobby shop was selling off kyosho parts as they were not going to distribute them any longer, I bought up all of them, even things I didn't think I needed. I had like 15 sets of front arms or something like that. The funny thing was I never broke another front arm (not when practicing) and I have only broke one front arm during a race one time after that, and none since I upgraded to the tki4 (15 sets of new arms in stock At least this is how it worked for me, when I have spares nothing seems to break and I can relax better when I am driving, I think that might be some of the reason the younger kids drive so much better as they are not worried about breaking something because mom and dad just foot the bill..

I have two Axial Exo, love the look of these cars and also love the way it handles on the track. So i basically have one for bashing and keep the other on display. Also they're discontinued.

When I started, we raced as a family (2 older brothers and me). Pretty sure my father technically had a car, but think he only raced once. Over 5 years of weekly racing, changing cars almost annually, we never had a spare again.
Started up to run as a family again, I have a Slash, 2 SC10's, almost another roller of parts, and an SC10.2. Right now 1 SC10 due to having 3 diffs needing rebuilding.
