I personally run the Pro 4 HD 4300 with Tekin RX8 Gen 2 and it works great for me. I've never had any issues. Tons of bottom end and super smooth.

For any ROAR races, I run the 4600kv Tekin.

I use the 4000kv motor and rx8 gen2. It's an awesome setup.

I like the pro4 HD 4300 as a 4wd SC motor, but it is not a legal motor in every neighborhood. A lot of power, and a lot of fun. Other than that I have enjoyed running the Pro 4 4600 and Pro 4 4000 motors. Several people I know run the HW 4700 Pro SCT Xerun motor, and it is smooth and fast. I also hear a lot of good buzz about the new Trinity Zombie motors but have yet to see one in action that I know of. I have run the older Trinity 4XS motors and had the opinion that they are fast and strong motors but seemed warmer to me than my Tekins.

Seems like the heyday of the 550 2-pole is past most people, but they can do well enough, just not the same grunt as the above options.

I know this is not much help, but all those motors have a fan base for a reason, they are all solid choices, you really are likely to be happy with any of them.

Good deal! I was pretty much gonna say what ever you can afford. Tekin, hobbywing, etc are all reliable set ups. Just depends on budget.
Sadly though...I recently sold off all my Castle and othwr brand esc's to switch to HW. Becouse Ive never really had any issues. Now theyre installed in everything and Im having some technical issues theres NO PRODUCT SUPPORT! Im let down! I waited before I posted this but they left me no choice. Ive been pounding HW tech support with no response!

Hobbywing. The 4000 and 4700 are both GREAT motors, and run cooler than the Tekins. If you decide to get a Tekin, get the Pro4, not the Pro4 HD.

Did you get a chance to run your LRP motor yet?
