Default Need new ESC for RC8.2e rtr

My Rc8.2e rtr ESC is having a few glitchy problems and I would like to replace the ESC with a higher amp unit. I believe the stock one to only be 80amps.

I will probably only run 4s and only bash at a BMX track.

I was looking at dollar hobbyz and they have this
dollarhobbyz.com/part-type/electronic-speed-controls/kyosho-1-8-inferno-gt2-ve-rs-orion-vortex-r8-esc.html

and maybe I'd grab this for a spare
dollarhobbyz.com/kyosho-1-8-inferno-gt2-ve-rs-team-orion-vortex-8-evo-motor.html

Not sure if there is a better option that's this cheap or close?

Any help or reassurance of the Orion is appreciated.

cant post url's yet sorry

The Hobbywing SCT Pro ESC is a great ESC for a very good price. I really like mine! Plus Hobbywing customer service is second to none!!

Yes! The SCT speed controller it great! But it is always nice to have a slightly higher amperage speed controller to be safe... In all reality they are both really good! I ran the SCT one in my Truggy for 2 years, needed a beck for my insanely powerful servo though lol...

If you don't mind the bigger size go for it.

I would go with the Hobbywing 120A waterproof. This is what I run and I race my buggy on 4s and a 2000KV motor. The ESC is bulletproof I accidentally crossed the wires when I was setting up the ESC and I didn't fry it. This way if you run it in some puddles or wanna clean the buggy you never have to remove the ESC and don't have to worry about frying the ESC if it gets water.

NO!

the 120a is better than the 150a

the sct version is:
- smaller
- lighter
- smoother
- cheaper

the 150a is way to big IMO, not needed

Now with that being said is it the same unit as the waterproof one just unsealed? I trash my cars sometimes and waterproof is a good idea for me unless all i need to do is seal the case up with some silicone I can do that my self.

why?

give us one reason why the 150A is better, I'm curious

local drivers have compared them extensively and the 150A has been better in none area..just none

@ OP: the 120a waterproof is an ezrun I think, which isn't as good as the xerun

lol now i'm confused. hahaha.

i think for what i do the SCt one is fine and prob the waterproof one too. With teh prices being so close i don't want to think after i buy one damn I should have got that one because it does this or because it has that or runs cooler or ?
