Got a feather up my rear and weighed my t5m with a 5800mah square pack in it....1956 grams. Its bone stock w/Hobbywing v3.1, d4 13.5, ko rsx servo, and an smc 5800 square pack. I'll go weigh one of my rt6s.....

RT6 with r10 pro, savox 1258,d4 17.5, and 5800mah square pack = 1893g. The only real caveat is that this is with pucks. Also, usually run with a shorty.

This truck really impressed me. I took my xfactory setup and converted the t5m to the same dimensions... TQ by a lap first race out with the truck. Then I had some mishaps in the main and fell to last by second lap and by the last lap I was within 1 second of the leader and finished a sad second. I have to admit I can't wait to put this into a big event competition.

The weight is 1850g. With the way it pulled people out of the corner and on the straight, I doubt I need to even put pucks in it.

Reading here that the truck is a bit heavy has me in a bit of a dilemma since I plan to run in the 13.5 class at my track. Should I consider the Impact (21.3g) over the GTB 3 (40.4g) or would the $60 price difference, and added features I probably won't be using make the weight savings irrelevant? Side note- most popular/top esc's seem to be around 40-45g.

I ran mine with a 17.5 and had no issues with the truck at 1850g. Driving plays a bigger part than weight.

Being you have experience with the RT6, how do you compare it to the T5? I am looking for a new ST and not sure which to get, T5, RT or 22 2.0???

You wanting to dump a RT6 MM send me a PM!

judging off the posted numbers, the T5M does not have a weight problem when compared to other mid motor trucks. However, the truck does has a weight problem when compared to rear motor.

No, though it depends on use. You're just zipping up and down a street, right?
