Hi guys,

I am looking at getting one of these Exotek XT6 conversion kits. I realise that I need parts from both the B6 and T5M, but I'm just wondering about what parts I actually need. The majority of the chassis components are B6, but can I use the B6 steering blocks, caster blocks, and rear hubs etc with the T5M suspension arms, shocks, turnbuckles etc ?

Thanks for any help,
Daniel

You can use the B6 front caster and steering blocks but you will have to get a spacer for the axle because the B6 steering block is wider than the T5M.
Schelle sells a kit for this

The Exotek conversion uses the B6 gear diff? And then T5M bones and axles? Asking because I have a B6D with the laydown transmission but I'm pretty sure I did not put the gear diff in it. So I might need the gear diff which seems to be a rare bird these days.

You can use either the ball diff or gear diff both will work

I'm new to stadium ran 3 packs stock. Did the Exotek conversion...will say it's worth it. Handles and jumps really well.

Did you have a T5M before the Exotek Conversion xt6 to make a comparison?

I have a T5M and have been contemplating trying the Exotek xt6 conversion

Exotek says no spacers needed on the front axle. But then there's the Schelle conversion that has spacers. So who's right? Did you need spacers to use the B6 front steering components and Exotek chassis?

I don't have the Exotek conversion but when I put the B6 steering/caster blocks on my T5M I needed the spacer. The B6 block is about .070 wider which is almost 2mm than the T5M block. I don't know how you wouldn't have to have a spacer unless they give you a longer axle in the kit.

Basically if you use the T5M steering block on the Exotek conversion you won't need any spacer, if you use the B6 steering block with the T5M axle then you will need a spacer

On the T5m front steering blocks, does anybody have any ideas on how to get rid of the axle insert slop?

Does the Exotek conversion allow you to mount the shocks to the front of the rear arms? Are their holes in the Exotek chassis to allow a stand-up or lay-down transmission? Debating about pulling the trigger on this conversion kit since I have a T5M and B6 roller laying around.

Thanks . . . Matt

Not sure about the standup tranny but I think you could use the B6D tranny because all of the holes are the same as the B6 laydown tranny.
You can definitely put the shocks on the front or rear of the rear arms. A guy at the track has one of these conversion and I have seen him run the shocks both ways.
